I thought the drunken Irish crowd were pretty embarrassing to be honest and I kind of felt sorry for Aldo. But then again, I'm sure the Brazilian crowds were just as bad, only I couldn't understand what they were saying.

A lot of the comments from the Irish crowd were pure cringe, but the energy there was fantastic. And I did love the guy who came up with the football style chant.
I think the UK version of the fight night is running on a tape delay. There was a definite cut in Iaquinta's post fight speech. Being the gossipy fuck that I am, does anyone know what he said that got cut?

Mavisdal loves fighting, but not finishing. He seems to rather have it last 3 rounds for funsies as he doesn't go after the finish when he has someone (or the opportunity to) hurt.
Al's a little bit of a hotel-room-trashing loose unit sometimes but I like him. After the Lauzon fight he had that hilariously perfect deadpan delivery about going to Mexico and learning Spanish. "All the senoritas are gonna love me ... it’s gonna be good.” Sure it doesn't look like much in black and white, but he sells it real nice. I get a kick out of how unguarded and passionate he is, so I was laughing again when he swore at the crowd. He may not be couth, but so many post-fight interviews lack personality ("whoever Joe Sila puts in front of me") I'll always take one with an overabundance of it.
Judges sucked though. Masvidal was right (though perhaps unwise in this Diego Sanchez world) to feel he won every round.
Schaub was on the latest joey diaz podcast, he's at 251 right now aiming for 220 in 11 weeks, then doing a test cut to 205. also he has 4 fights left on his contract.
