The October issue of Nintendo Power has a big writeup on Battalion Wars 2 for the Wii, and I am totally stoked. Having enjoyed the first game despite it's lack of multiplayer, I'm glad to see BWii is shaping up nicely.
For those of you unaware, Battalion Wars was a third person shooter/RTS game made by Kuju entertainment for the Gamecube, and it definitely deserves this sequel. During development it was set in the Advanced Wars universe, and although now that's changed the Advanced Wars inspirations are still evident - such as tanks that look adorable.
Although I haven't been able to find a recent article on the web confirming the online multiplayer, according to Nintendo Power the online portion will have three modes - Assault, Skirmish, and Co-op - and like Mario Strikers Charged it can pair you against a random internet foe or allow you play directly with a buddy via friend codes. The game will also have a singleplayer campaign continuing the rather tongue-in-cheek story of the series' first installment.
Wiki and EBGames claim a October 29th release for North America, so start savin' your pennies.

Hell, in many ways the original looks better than Halo 1.
If it has any of the depth of the Advance Wars titles, holy awesome balls.
It seemed like a good idea at the time.
Also, I love how in the first picture you can see this massive explosion with an arrow pointing at it saying bazooka.
I loved the first game, online is hopefully going to lengthen this a bit more. Battlefield with Advanced Wars art direction? Fuck yeah!

How do you mean? You mean like achievements and stuff?
Battalion Wars 2 looks kind of ugly.
Obviously you cannot have a game that is both pretty and fun. And also it's totally easy to replicate things in games in real life. Why, just yesterday I beat a hooker to death with a baseball bat, flew a TIE fighter, and raised a rat that could fire bolts of electricity.
