that is seriously one of my biggest dreams in life

to get on a bike with maybe two or three other friends and just ride on back roads all across the country with no other itinerary than to eat awesome food and maybe see like the grand canyon or something along the way.

One of my favorite times ever was when I took a solo road trip down the oregon coast, just me and my subaru hatchback and a week to spend. Following the ocean, eating awesome food, listening to books on tape and exploring all of the hokey little roadside attractions I could find. Taking my time. My only goal was to relax and enjoy the trip and make it to the Trees of Mystery in the redwoods just outside of Crescent City, right on the California border.

Such a fantastic trip. I really want to do something like that again.

You HAVE to see this documentary then.

One of the best ive ever watched.

    Long Way Round

    http://imdb.com/title/tt0403778/plotsummary
This documentary series follows actors Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman on a motorcycle trip around the world. The two friends will travel through such places as Siberia, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, and Alaska, before finally ending the journey in New York. The filming will be done by on board cameras and one ride along cameraman.

And it's not like calmly riding on roads and trails. They go through every terrain imaginable, granted they do get some special treatment in cities, I mean it is Ewan McGregor but still it's amazing. Especially the more remote places as mentioned above.

that is such a sweet miniseries

random dude: 'hey, ewan mcgregor's riding a bike like yours'

charley: 'hey stuart, ewan mcgregor's got a bike like yours!'

ewan mcgregor with helmet on: 'oh, really?'

dude, half the west coast drives subie hatchbacks. They're great fuckin' cheap-ass cars. Bought mine for $2000 cash dollars with over 180k miles on it and I drove it until it nearly hit 300k.

Fucking awesome car. I miss it like crazy.

I hardly see them anymore in LA.

But yeah I am in no way saying they are bad cars, dude. I lived in Portland so basically everyone I knew drove one and they were pretty damn reliable and safe and efficient.

I had Wendy's today. I had a frosty, but a salad instead of fries. It was delicious. I did not dip the salad in the frosty.

I like Maid-Rite's sandwiches and shakes, but they're fries are bland and mushy. Checkers has the best fries ever. It's a good ten minute's drive from the one to the other.

Goddamn you east coasters are so not on the ball.
Five Guys Burgers in fries is the best place in our neck of the woods.
Though In and Out Burger looks and sounds amazing.

There's also this 50 style place in the middle of nowhere in central NY called Tom Wahl's. They have very good fries and burgers, but fantastic shakes, malts, and floats.

Cook Out is pretty popular around here. They have great shakes. I heard their burgers were good but i had one and it was not. The cheese was that nasty sauce like cheese. Tasted really fake.

The banana shake I got, however, was quite delicious.
