A friend of mine recently played on hardcore mode, direct connection, with the difficulty ramped up to 8 players with just the 2-3 of us.

Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
Trap assassin.
Elemental druid.
Poison necro.
Once I tried making an assassin who only used Psychic Hammer and then the skill above that. Basically I could just go *right click right click right click mana pot* and kill everything without aiming. And then eventually the character sucked too hard to go on.

I made a Paladin with every point put into fire aura.
worked great for a good while until it sucked royal.
what kind of character are you running and what level are you? it shouldn't be that hard to take him on alone
also, whoever said last page that trapsins are a "shitty" class is just crazy. they're by far the safest class in the game and they can having fantastic killing power without depending one bit on having rare gear (the best weapon for a trapsin is one you buy, not one you find). they can make guardian pretty easily, and they're a blast to play.
oh, if you're trying to run an even split between those two tree it might be tough, and I've had character who just couldn't quite do it until as late as 42
a few levels make a pretty huge difference, so I'd just keep running the areas leading up to baal without quite getting to him for a while if I were you

No, that's too boring.
I sometimes I forget I'm used to playing hardcore
yeah, if you're playing SC you can just rush right in there and keep hacking away until you eventually succeed
that will probably be quicker

Memories. Maybe when I get Windows running on my Macbook I can find Diablo II and rock that mother out.
You can't run D2 on a macbook?
I guess I could. I haven't tried. Mainly because I don't have access to my discs, yet.
Blizzard always makes their games compatible with Mac. It should install and run just fine I would think.
I may install it on Windows, anyway. If I do BootCamp, I'm going to be doing it for gaming. And I guess I'm a little anal, too...
DII has always been for mac. Every single disk includes both the mac and pc version on it. However in order to install it on OS X you will have to download their carbon installer and the carbon update.

THOUGH I LACK A VAGIINUUH, I FIND THE SENSATION TO BE FANTASTIC
Can you believe it?
Also, I found the clickclickclickclickclick more effective than holding when it comes to bone spear. I can click faster than it casts them.

And his last guardian might be even worse.

Well, after dying a lot.
