so i am in my 4th year of university, and just started my first week for the year. everything im studying at the moment is progressive so i would expect to know most people in the class after having studied with them for the past few years. you know how it is, everyone bored of the work by now and jaded about uni just hanging out with a bunch of familiar faces
but now i come to my japanese classes this year to find that i am at the same level as high school graduates. meaning that my classes that should have been filled with familiar faces with a heavy leaning towards international students from china and korea with their cute girls are now swarmed with kids who just graduated from local high schools. first class i had i drag my sleepy ass in the room to find the taiwanese girl i sat with in my classes last semester with some fat white kid in the chair next to her with this excited look on his face the entire hour that was probably due in equal parts to this being his first time at uni and his first time talking to a girl. also he was wearing these shorts that didnt go past his thighs and they were not very flattering.
i didnt realise how bad the problem was until my class yesterday when the teacher asked all first year students to raise their hands and it was basically the whole room. which explained why i only recognised a few people. then at the end when i walked out some random kid from the class came up to me and started asking me about the level of japanese we are studying because he doesnt feel ready for it and he is panicking and he doesnt know anyone and maybe some other shit like that which is normal i guess, everyone goes through that at the start of uni. so i gotta say some shit to reassure the kid and i feel kinda sorry for him but at the same time i dont care so its just annoying
i mean shit if they are gonna take over my beloved classes they could at least try not being all crappy you know. time will tell how this semester plays out, but there is a high probability of many kids really eager and excited to be studying in university. maybe i was like that to begin with as well but at least i didnt jump straight into senior subjects. these kids are fucking with the program

We've tried talking to him about it, but he insists he has no body odor. It's really unsanitary, especially considering we're handling food.

There aren't a lot of indian girls either. There just aren't a lot of girls period.
its not a huge deal and if it was a beginner subject thered be no problem, its just after getting to know everyone for a couple years you get cozy
and it seems like these new kids might outnumber the older ones
i think ive only seen a small number of people i recognise, say under 10
which, after 2 classes of 30 people is a small amount, especially after expecting the opposite

you're in the wrong engineering program then.
at my school there were fewer girls than in most other programs, but still a decent amount; and the vast majority of them were very, very hot.
