A secret anti-Turkish Pact between Austria and Russia bears deadly fruit as Austrian forces sweep into Bulgaria with the support of the Russian bear. Turkish forces offer resistance, but the forces arrayed against them are so superior that the Turkish Army is encircled and massacred. Brighter news for the Ottomans on the Eastern Front, where the Russian forces are forced out of Armenia, grudgingly the Russian army confronts the prospect of taking up new positions on their side of the Caucasus. The Russian Baltic Fleet "convinces" King Oscar II of Sweden to allow the use of Stockholm for their resupply.
