I've told this one before, but I figure I may as well give it another go.
So, I've got a light-switch on my wall. This light-switch controls an outlet, into which is plugged a power-strip. Into the power-strip is plugged a lamp. Thus, the light-switch controls the lamp, via the power-strip.
Now, one day, I was downloading some large file on my laptop, and needed to have it turned on all night. Its charger was plugged into the same power-strip as the lamp, so when I went to bed, I turned the lamp off via its built-in knob, and left the light-switch on so that my computer would have power.
When I woke up, I found to my dismay the light-switch had been turned off and my laptop's battery was dead. I thought nothing of it, though, my parents often would come into my room in the mornings before leaving, and probably fiddled with the switch, not realizing I needed it on.
So, I did the same thing again that night: light-switch on, lamp off, laptop charging while downloading.
Only this night, both my parents were gone on a roadtrip with some family friends. I was alone in the house. And I live in the middle of a forest, far from civilization.
And in the morning, I found the same thing. Light-switch off, laptop dead.
I don't believe in the supernatural, but I also don't have any explanation for what happened. My family assures me I have no history of somnambulism, and the house hadn't been broken into or anything. Thinking about it still weirds me out a bit; I was sleeping not more than five feet from that switch.
That's what kept me sleeping under my covers when I was 10.
Me and you are the same person, except my parents loved x-files (I do too now) and thank you fram I needed to spend all night studying for an exam on monday.

I went ghost hunting once
here are some pics:
it was an abandoned old military radio tower or something that was condemned a long time ago. it's way out in the middle of the woods
the scariest part about the whole thing is that when we left, some crazy locals were driving around the lot (i have no idea how they got back there)
they started driving towards us really fast, slammed on the brakes and started screaming "what are you fucking kids doing back here, do you want to get raped?"
i almost cried, it was scary
rumor has it the hells angels dump bodies in the basement of this place, or have in the past. there are 3 levels that are unreachable because they are flooded.

I wish I had rational fears like everybody else but no, those pictures of the building are in a way appealing to me and i've never had a fear of ghosts or the dark. Show me an alien however and i'm the biggest wuss.

Oh jesus, that video reminded me of a book I read as a kid about close encounters with aliens. One of the stories involved a bunch of people in a farmhouse, and the aliens were short, bug-eyed creatures with arms that drug across the ground. I guess for whatever reason the aliens were being aggressive and the people had to fight them off with shotguns. Creeped the fuck out of me.
