    1. Can we bring our own Pony Decoration Supplies?
    2. Is "Pretty" the only criteria for judging?

Yes you can bring your own supplies (although with only 20 people being chosen, you might bring it for nothing). We are just providing some basic decorating supplies so people in the contest dont feel obligated to go out and buy stuff.

No pretty isnt the only one. They just just judge the overall pony (how orginal it is, how well done, etc) and how well you pitched it

    FYI:

The winner of the Video contest gets a garunteed entry into the pony contest (if they want, if they dont want to be in the pony contest then their entry gets drawn)

    Contest thread:
    http://forums.penny-arcade.com/showthread.php?t=96893

We will probably have a mini raffle friday morning to determine the contestants of the pony contest. Someone will ask you if you want to be entered in it when you enter byoc.

The guy I was talking to about setting up a Legend of the Green Dragon server doesn't have time to tackle that. If anyone wants to make that a pet project, I still think it'd be a cool thing to have and we could pretty easily incorporate it into a contest.

oh ho ho! I've never thought I'd be this excited about My Little Ponies at this point in my life! :3

I can't wait to see who's chosen! Good luck to all BYOCers!

The ideas for customization are beginning to flow through my brain now, it's like being a Chosen of Mystra & tapping into the Weave. ^_^

As to entry into the BYOC area, would a student ID suffice? Like, my High School ID card, or do I actually need to bring my passport?

Gov issued ID very very highly prefered.
(If you dont have Gov issued ID then you fail at life)

If your student ID has your Picture/name then it will do over nothing, but please bring the first.

HOW TO TRANSFER A BYOC BADGE TO ANOTHER PERSON

So you sold a pass eh? Well you suck, we are going to have SO MUCH FUN WITHOUT *YOU* :P

But heres how you transfer it....

Have the person buying your pass create an account on the intel LANfest site.
Get them to tell you their Real name/account name on the site.
Then you need to submit a support ticket on the LANfest site to have your BYOC Pass and seat transfered to them.

    Thats it :)

Hey BigRed - I'm trying to give s7arbuck my monies to transfer his BYOC pass (actually a dual swap: he gives me his two seats, I give him my one, so I end up with two seats next to each other) but the Intel guys apparently aren't responding.

    Two Questions:
    1) What's the procedure for transferring them AT PAX? Do we just get our own badges and then trade them? Will you guys get mad if I'm using his badges/seats and vice versa? Plz advise.
    2) If I have two BYOC passes under my name, and want to give one to my girlfriend who DOESNT HAVE A COMPUTER, is this cool? I know you say "no spectators" and that's what she'd technically be doing, just with a paid seat. If you're really strict I could bring a laptop for her, but if I simply can't bring her into the BYOC area I'm gonna have to sell my seat.

Thanks for your help! Feel free to PM me.

You can go this via the ticket transfer which is still open. Both of you submit a ticket for each transfer, the intel guys should be able to figure out whats going on.

    1) You can do that before pax, please do if at all possible (makes things easier on me :P)
    2) Technally its no BYOC attendees... if you want to pay for a spot so your GF can come in and use your computer and/or watch... go ahead. The no spectator thing means no non-BYOC attendees.

So... im kind of at a Bar right now doing BYOC work... (plus a lot of beer :P, see seattle gathering thread) I re-read your post...

You and your gf want his two seats (so you guys can sit together) and he wants to take your single seat? Yes?
Id still sugguest to submit support tickets to have those changed in your names... But if you want to swap with him day of that shouldnt be a problem (if the Lanfest support guys dont get it in time before the Lockdown). The only catch is the orginal ticket owners will have to get the badges from willcall on thursday.

So yeah.. Submit ticket to have them swapped is prefered.. if its not done in time its cool.

Note about the mod contest. We run an 'open' contest meaning you do not have to enter. We will walk the BYOC area and choose the top contenders (the number can vary but is usually 10-20 depending on the event). At that point we will deliberate and choose the top 5 and the top three after that. This is assuming we follow the same procedure as the PDXLANs and Intel LANS. CPU Magazine and a panel of 'Pro-Modders' (that term makes me cringe but it is all semantics I guess - the panel will be former CPU Magazine front page winners anyways) will choose the winners.

Having your build on teh front page of CPU Magazine can really open up doors (and the cash is nice as well). Good luck and hope to see some talent on display at PAX.

However my lan group is all the way across the room on tycho's side =\.
I'm looking to trade my seat gg-1, yes an aisle seat, to anyone sitting
in Rows Ti, Tf, Tg, and Th. Please PM me so we can work something out, thanks!

I saw it mentioned somewhere that you can pick up BYOC passes on Thursday to save a little time on Friday am... Is this also at the Hyatt? Or in the convention center?

It makes me wish I was better at this kind of stuff. Maybe I still have enough time if I started now.

    I wanted to ask.

Is neotokyo going to be installed on the PAX machines? I figured I would install it just because I hope people will play it there at pax.

    FYI guys:

You have until the end of business day on friday to get any of your BYOC ticket transfers done. Transfers get locked down then becuase I have to build the local database/apps :P

If you want to sell a BYOC pass after like 4pm on friday, then you will have to actually get the pass day of and give it to whoever is buying your seat in person.

I'm sorry if this has already been discussed, but can I suggest getting some custom Left 4 Dead maps??

Helms Deep and the Docks are 2 of the levels my co-workers have played and said were pretty good. So, maybe we could get some people together to play these, in addition to the regular maps? My co-workers are jerks, so they always play without me...

alright so i read the FAQ and i'm pretty sure i already know the answer to this buuut

i know some people in the BYOC area, and i'm wondering if there's any way for me to get in, and kick it with them.

i know passes are sold out, so let's exclude buying a pass for the moment.

can a second person be put on a BYOC account? so two people can get in?

or... is there any way other than buying a BYOC pass?
