Is it six button? I have a cheap Logitech pad that's ridiculously great for what I paid and is a joy for SNK games, but straight up sucks for anything six button. I'm torn, because I think it's worse than my roommate's expensive Logitech dual analog programmable six button in terms of layout, but kills it in terms of response speed and accuracy.

Do I just have to build my own stick now?

When I was trying the demo out at PAX, I didn't seem to have any issue with the 360 controller. But I did only play it a little bit.

What specifically makes the 360 controller so bad for Tekken?

well, if you're trying to do specific moves, that d-pad is junk

if you're just sort of hitting buttons to make your guy do things I suppose it's not as bad

I was using the analog stick instead of the d-pad. I definitely agree that the d-pad is junk, but it seems like the analog stick works just fine.

me I don't have gold and I can't get it without going to canada plus after 5 tekken games I'm pretty used to how that works on a sony controller

As for the 360 vs PS3 online, I own Soul Calibur IV on both systems, and I'd say they're just about even as far as online play goes. I didn't overly lag in one vs another.

I'm picking up Tekken 6 on the PS3 myself, but I may end up getting it for the 360 as well.

He was fairly easy to learn in Tekken 5, but from what I'm hearing, he's like a completely new character now, so I don't know.

Just make sure you get the PS3 version. Hell, the consensus seems to be that there will be more PS3 copies sold than 360.

This is also one of the only fighting games where I don't think I could play this with a stick. It would just feel... wrong.

the nice thing about 3d fighters as compared to 2d is that they're generally easier to learn to play competitively

there's not a lot of frame counting, cancelling, double air jump shit going on

they tend to be harder to master though

there's a mode in the game where you can co-op beat on a bunch of thugs, final fight style

it's called Scenario Mode or something? They've had it in the last few games under different names.
