    That's a sad story.

The part about asking his kids, I mean. And really, he's one of the best parts of that movie.

One of the best parts of the movie is how lousy Guile is to his friend Charlie
Just calls him out right in front of Bison so even the dimmest of super-villans would know to use him as leverage, consequently turning him into Blanka. What an ass

Thanks very much, Santa! I have not played this game, but have always heard about it. And now I have an excuse to dust off my Wii :)

Disclaimer: My receiving the gift so late is my fault, not my Santa's. He sent it some time ago, but I had a last minute change of plans and wasn't at my original address during the holiday season.

"Five, take dictation! Post to PA forums, RE: G&T Secret Santa

So I get home from a tough day of work to find this waiting for me. It's from an unknown source, so it must be my SS.
    bot1.jpg
That thing holding the mail is, of course, my trusty 5.3p omnibot lab assistant, "five".
    Well, open it up, five.
Whoa, wait just a freaking second here! I'm back from work, but where's my cocktail? Bad Robot!
    bot2.jpg
It appears there is another envelope within the usps's tyvek delivery enclosure. The envelope contains loose leaf pages.
Spread 'em out for me, five.
Ah, and my omnibot has produced a rum and coke. Good work, fiv... arg! No LIME? Bad Robot!
    bot3.jpg
There are six pages, in fact. One handwritten, the others typed.

The handwritten page is interesting. Take this down, five. It reads:
First I want to aplogize, my department has just been shut down. The Director has just resigned, and I don't know what to do next. I found you on the PA Forums, and felt that someone, anyone must know [strike]wh[/strike]what happened here.

In this first mailing I have what I could save [strike]for[/strike] from the 'Z' files. I have to handwrite this memo due to watching eyes (sorry about the penmanship).

No action is [strike]requirell[/strike]required on your part, just keep those in a safe spot [strike]unlit[/strike]until our next contact.
If you go to the media, you will be branded a nut.
But I don't think you will do that.

    Thank you,

XXXX (Assistant to Dr. Ron "Tachyon" Fabela)
Four kisses is a lot, don't you think, five?

RESPONSE: SIGNATURE "XXXX" IS AN ALIAS NOT INDICATIVE OF AFFECTION

Ah, what? Yes, well, being branded a nut by the media is nothing I'm unfamiliar with. Haha! Call me mad will they? I'll show them mad. Which reminds me, I have a lot of science to do around here, so... uh... five, scan and post those other pages and get back to me with a brief summary. Good Robot.

    SCANS FOLLOW:
    PAGE ONE
    page-1.jpg
    PAGE TWO
    page-2.jpg
    PAGE THREE
    page-3.jpg
    PAGE FOUR
    page-4.jpg
    PAGE FIVE
    page-5.jpg

SUMMARY OF SCAN: PANDEMIC MISIDENTIFICATION LIKELY SOURCE OF SYMPTOMATIC ABERRATION

Buh? Now what the heck does that mean, five? Can't you see I'm doing work here? You simply must be more succinct. Bad Robot!

    REVISED RESPONSE: ITCHY, TASTY

Terrific. Hey! I just scanned this picture my daughter drafted for me! Check it out:
    mermaid-1.jpg

A mermaid walking a dog! Ha! Haha! Yeah. Recommended course of action, five?

    RESPONSE: AWAIT FURTHER INTELLIGENCE

Easily done. Hand me that power drill and end dictation. Good Robot."

Don't worry about the disks, they play fine (just checked both). I am also all too familiar with the loose usage of the "like new" description on ebay.

(I messaged khoo re: gabriel and tycho and no response there either). I'm assuming these four got their gifts and are fat and happy.

Starwind totally has gifts, since I sent them and he said he received them. He just never posted pics.

I don't have gifts, but I received a pre-gift letter and an extensive hand-drawn storybook PM'd to me by a helpful proxy because the post office couldn't be reached before the holidays.

I am confident a gift is forthcoming.

Gift get Round 3: Things get awesomer.
So earlier this week, I'm compulsively checking my tweets, as one is wont to do when trying to avoid work. When I see this one pop up:
    tweeta.jpg
More gifts? Good grief, Mace does Secret Santa up right.

Anywho, I came home today (after a particularly frustrating day of work) to see this waiting for me on my counter:
    img2831.jpg

Creepy pen holder monkey tries to inspect:
    img2832.jpg

    Behold! More comics!
    img2833yh.jpg

Sweet! Ms. Marvel! Awesome, but a little confusing. Didn't Mace gift me a subscription to Marvel comics already?

-- Oh wait. What's that in the corner?

    img2834f.jpg
Eeeee! I don't know if you can make it out, but Rebekah Isaacs (who did the art) signed it! To me! OH CRAP! I love her stuff! Eeeee!

    img2835x.jpg
I haven't heard of this book, but I can't wait to read it. I know, at the very least, it'll be super pretty.

    And there's more!
    img2837a.jpg
A primer for the Wildstorm Universe. Which is excellent, since I know nothing about it, but am super excited for DV8 (which is coming out later this year). Flipping through it, I see this:

    img2836up.jpg

Sweetness! Background info for DV8! Plus there were 2 promo cards for the series. All of them signed by Rebekah Isaacs. Frikkin' awesome!

Creepy Monkey stares judgmentally over my entire haul (including all this stuff):
    img2840r.jpg
Creepy Monkey agrees that Mace wins Christmas.

As a sidenote: I absolutely loved all the comics. I was surprised at how good Hush was. Though, I sort of hate Mace for getting me into all the Batman stuff; I immediately went out and bought the latest Detective Comics, and now I'm sucked in. Dude, do you know how much this'll cost me, now? :P

Also: Communist Superman was fantastic. Batman wearing a hat is probably the best visual ever.

Finally, this wasn't part of my gift, but after hearing about them in the thread, I couldn't help picking up some TimTams after seeing them at Kroger.
    img2841d.jpg
    Nummy!

Glad you liked the stuff :)

After stalking you and seeing your post about Isaacs, I contacted her via facebook and requested her signature on some stuff. She agreed (I was surprised she even replied!) and sent over the comics as requested. However, my apartment mail room fails at life and didn't record the package as having arrived until last week (Isaacs mailed the comics like mid-November). Anyways, props to her for sending them. It was incredibly cool of her.

I hope I'm not one of the guys who had a santa that's mailed something out weeks ago but hasn't arrived yet. I gotta say, I do check the porch with more zeal when I see those "omg out for delivery!" posts, but so far it's just more junk mail. Or bills.

My santa better not be sending me tax forms. I hear those are common in january ;D
