I eat raw beef/eggs/fish, never had an issue.
Though I did get sick from a fully cooked hotdog.

Hamburger meat is not the same as steak and often gets contaminated while grinding it up, and is generally lower quality.
Isn't part of it also that dangerous bacteria lives on the outside of beef cuts, which is why it's fine to eat raw steaks because you just have to heat it up enough to kill that bacteria for it to be safe, whereas hamburger grinds it all up and mixes the bacteria throughout?
Or something to that effect?
