what really upsets me is when i don't expect a movie to push my emotional buttons and it does
like, i went into brokeback mountain, schindler's list, and the road knowing i was going to be watching something depressing as shit (in the case of the road, i had even read the book first!)
but when a movie sucker-punches me like wall-e that is pretty not cool
But goddamn Wall-E was a good movie.
oh totally!
not at all dismissing the film or how great it is
just that it's really painful for me to watch
really just the part where
eve shuts down after grabbing the plant, and wall-e carts her around trying to get her to do things and still loving her and stuff
i was seeing that movie for the first time with my then-girlfriend who was emotionally and psychologically collapsing and distancing herself from me, often to the point that i'd be practically dragging her out to do things and trying to pretend we were still in a loving relationship when it had really died a long time ago
so it sorta hit me in a very awkward and difficult spot

Motherfucking Comedy Central. Stop playing the Mafia II commercial constantly. Last night they played it twice in a row! For a total of five times in under 30 minutes! I can't get that fucking song out of my head!!
Incidentally, I was just messaged that I'll be receiving the 360 version for review. It better be good.

I hear it's bad.
I played the demo... It was bad.
... what?
You heard me!
It.
Was.
BAD!
... no it wasn't, it was good. I enjoyed it greatly
i played the first metroid at my cousin's house because he had a nintendo and i did not
and never played another one i don't think
the stories always seemed p much like nonsense
i don't really understand why people are attached to them
there is no story in metroid beyond "samus lands on a planet, wrecks everyone's shit, leaves"
the prime series introduced a recurring foe and detailed the mythology, but the story was still very bare-bones
and while the other m is trying to go plot-heavy, it's by team ninja, so i expect the story there to be pretty dismal
it's just always been a great, atmospheric series of games that are fun to play, is all
that's what i thought!
it's impossible to gauge the depth and merits of something by the fans, because no matter how bare-bones the story or "universe" of something is, along will come fan-fiction and fan-art and fan-speculation and shit to fill it in with whatever they want it to be
so i honestly don't know what to make of this serious-looking metroid game

I didn't. Then again, if I want to play GTA I'd just play GTA. Or RDR.
Mafia II from what I hear is really good and atmospheric. The demo was not that horrible at all but I am not a big fan that style of targeting. I might try the demo on the computer it might be more fun.

Tycho and Gabe seemed to like it.
But you know what, I'm glad I don't know anything about it. I just hope I don't get off on a whole "GTA did this better" tangent.
Just Cause 2 was a breeze to review because the only thing it shared with GTA is that they're both sandbox games.
i'm not really interested in another GTA-style sandbox crime game until Saints Row 3 comes out because it's the only one of those... things i actually like

team ninja
apparently they've tried to chick up samus as much as possible, which really pisses a lot of people off, and i'm not too pleased with it either
samus was always an extremely minimalist character with juuust enough hints at a "feminine" nature to qualify as a female video game character, namely her interaction with the baby metroid in the game boy metroid game and super metroid
so making her drone on and on about babies and motherhood kind of sabotages that
basically i am not interested in serious or gritty crime games
no thanks, that is anti-appealing to me
saints row 2 is bright and ridiculous and insane and has no melodrama
i am okay with this
GTA4 is not in the least bit serious most of the time. It has a lot of really silly shit. It's not a great game but it's okay I guess. The controls suck but you get used to them.

Running around in a skirt, ending in a bikini in one wasn't "feminine" o_O Granted I haven't played the GC ones.

I haven't seen Open Range. But my hatred of Dances with Wolves is passionate and fierce.
look sig might be the créme de la créme in her chicken coop
but out here? in the wide, green pasture?
well, it's the big leagues
here, my unemployed, non-degreed, lazy eyed excellence is pretty much the bar that not even her 70 inches of height can enable her to reach
yes, the scanning is so great.
You heard me!
It.

BAD!
Fuck scanning all that shit!
Pony: Goddamn, yeah... I see your point >.<
I would recommend Open Range. It's a little cheesy, but a lot of fun, and has one of the best gunfight scenes.
I also enjoyed Silverado.
Sometimes I want a parrot

yeah, not worth sixty bucks, sorry
i don't like mobster stories that much and the gameplay is nothing new
And he's already made his quota

I would be okay with one more Baseball movie out of him.

Same protagonist doing the same kinda things with some recurring foes
Fun gameplay, minimal plot
a really, really big chested black girl from brooklyn just OKC messaged me to let me know that she, too, loves the picture of dorian gray
you hear that, SiG?
don't need you

man i see something like that and birds seem so cute
and yet
i had a friend with birds back in college and it was just awful
smelly noisy and they would take p much any opportunity to take chunks out of you
GTA IV is serious?
Since when?
I'm like, SHOOT STUFF! GET MAH VISOR! YEAH!
I'm trying to think of a bad one but I can't.
because if so
no thanks bro
Since it came out?
GTA IV wanted to be goofy and lighthearted and serious as a heart attack, all at the same time
it didn't go over too well

GTA IV takes itself incredibly seriously
it tries to be a video game of the Sopranos and shit
no fucking thank you
