What is LoL? It's not an acronym that lends itself to googling.
League of Legends, I think.

I tend to play mage types but EVERYONE mostly plays mages or gankers, and there is always someone saying "Aw man there's no tank" so I figure I should learn the role some.
There are a few tanking methods. The most traditional is for characters with a taunt to initiate and absorb the brunt of the damage/shutdown the opposing carry while your team wipes the floor with the rest of them. So, shen, rammus and galio fill that role.
Then there are tanks that can absorb damage but don't have a method that forces you to target them, such as Cho'Gath, Mundo when he's built like a tank, and Mordekaiser fill this role. They are tempting targets on the front lines (before the teamfight truly starts) and often times you can bait the other team into initiating if they think they can take you down quickly. Again, the trick is to get the other team to choose to put their spells on cooldown in an effort to kill you, a big fatty, instead of your glass cannons.
Then there are also strong CC tanks in the vein of Amumu. Well, basically just Amumu. He's in his own category of awesome. Probably the best intiation/ultimate combo in the game with bandage toss and Curse of the Sad Mummy. I suppose you could throw Malphite in here as well.

Most of the full-on tanks aren't that interesting, though I'm already a fan of Taric and Vlad.
Singed is an interesting tank concept. Much tankier than blitzcrank (the robot dude) but with a similar ability to forcefully throw your opponent in a bad position and keep him there with your gooooooooo.
Right now he's my favorite tank to play, though I never do play tanks these days.
I also carry around a MacGuyver kit, though mine's in my pocket notebook (next to $21 and a train schedule).
Band-aids, paper clip, hairpin, safety pin, needle & thread, and a quarter; all in one of those tiny brown envelopes. Haven't had to use it for anything, but it's kind of nice knowing it's there. Along with the utili-key thing on my key chain I'm pretty well set for minor emergencies.

Fable 3 is getting some of the best marketing I've seen, there are ads and commercials everywhere and all the commercials are pure excellence! So good!
So it's unfortunate that I wasted my money apparently, but the hacking minigame in Alpha Protocol where you have to match the two number sets is game-ruiningly awful.
