Need to read through A storm of Swords and a Feast for Crows this christmas break (or this week I'll have off with nothing to do cause it's turkeygiving week).
Thinking about it though really for a tv show where you see her naked you'd want her to be pretty. Unconventionally so, but pretty, just because hey, tv. So from that perspective feebs, Jorja Fox is a good idea. Actually, she's work pretty well.
I just didn't really picture her like that, is all.

This is exactly why.
When I read the books, I always pictured everything as it would be translated to film.
This is why I think she would work well. Yes, she is absolutely gorgeous, but I feel like she has the ability to pull a Charlize Theron (Monster) if need be and fit the role quite well, and still be enjoyable enough for tv.

Those are all good reasons.
I'll admit when I pictured Brienne in the bath scene she could have looked like Jorja Fox.
If any show ever had to have swearing and tits it would be this one. Martin is the only author I have ever read who describes sex as "fucking" outside of a character's speech. He will actually say in the book "And then he fucked her." Took me a few times to notice it but there you go.
Seriously Brienne is the one character I have so much trouble picturing in my mind. On one hand I tend to want to see her as kinda cute, cleans-up-nice, diamond-in-the-rough, which I know is wrong. On the other hand, any attempt at conjuring up a truly ugly mental image turns into caricatural prosthetic buck-toothed tragedy.
I fail to comprehend how some of you people haven't gone completly insane waiting for dance of dragons. I only finished A feast for crows on friday and I already can't wait for it.

Buff and mannish is probably the way to go.
I get that.
It doen't help that she is supposed to have beautiful eyes in the books, and that there is a chemistry between her and Jaime.

And if the series lasts long enough, Jaime Lannister will join that list
And I am going to have to wait for the blu-ray set which will probably come this time next year...

I am conflicted about the idea of Tilda Swinton as Melisandre
but it won't happen either way
That means swearing and tits!
I'm in
Dear satan I wish for this or maybe some of this....oh and I'm a medium or a large.
pffft as if you could do this show without swearing and tits
this is truth.

Also Lucy Lawless from Spartacus has a good look for it as well.
Ooh, that's a good one.

I havn't seen any pics of a young Jorja Fox but she definately has an air of maturity, and Ygritte is mid teens. So...
I actually don't know who I might think could play Ygritte. Probably getan unknown.
And, of course, sister-fucking.
but those names are so goddamn dumb

TLB you read comic books, I have trouble believing silly names are that huge of a barrier for you.
Plus a sizeable chunk of the names in these books are traditional anglo-saxon names anyway
