So I'm pretty sure Seth Rogen is the side kick in this film.

I was going to argue against that, but i just saw a trailer that was mostly Kato beating people up.

Kato is the martial artist, the weapon/equipment engineer and the man who can get the job done.

The Green Hornet as a pretty cool house I guess...

While that sucks it's not like Spider-Man won't ever get my money.

I am fine with me being a whore.

It was cool seeing that stuntman flip from hanging on the back of that truck into the bed, though.

Man, I hate the cyclical nature of movie love/hate. Spider-man and spider-man 2 were not only great movies, they raised the level of production of comic book movies on a universal level. They were well made, well written, and looked awesome. To say "that's not saying much" about the Spider-man movies is just really silly. Looking back now and sniffing at them is dumb. You can't fault movies made in the past for not being up to date by today's standards.

look all I'm saying is that a Spider-Man movie without J.K. Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson is inherently less watchable than a Spider-Man movie with J.K. Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson.

Are these people completely substandard? Spider-man lives in NYC, not LA.... I'm British and even I won't stand for that kind of b.s. pull the plug SONY, this director has no clue, (500) Days of Crap was terrible, pull the plug!!!111

J.K Simmons as Jameson was the best performance of any of the Spider-Man films

I didn't expect him back though and I don't know how anyone could beat him

So I guess I'm not massively saddened by this

Still I would have loved him to return. That would have been great.

Spider-Man 2 and X-Men 2 are still two of my three favorite superhero movies, regardless of any advances made in the medium of comic book movies.

    I also heart Spider-Man

I hope that the new film is great, it really could be. The whole Spider-Man thing with him and his supporting characters and villains etc is great, it could be turned into a truly fantastic film.

They are filming street scenes in LA.
The film began shooting on December 6, 2010 in Los Angeles.[38][39] The film is the first Hollywood production to be filmed with the RED Epic camera, and is being shot in 3D at 5K resolution.[39] The 90-day film shoot will include two weeks in New York City, while the bulk of filming will occur in and around Los Angeles, including such locations as the Henry Fonda Theater in Hollywood, Immanuel Presbyterian Church in Mid-Wilshire, and various locations around South Pasadena, San Pedro, and Woodland Hills.[40]

It's probably cheaper and easier to shoot in LA

I highly doubt the film is set anywhere that is not NY

The first Spider-Man movie was bad enough (edit: in my opinion by the standards of entertaining me) that I had no interest in watching the other two.

And JJ was the character I thought they got right.

I can't imagine that a Spiderman Reboot so soon after, all things considered, a successful run of movies is going to be a good thing.

There is so much in the Spidey universe to explore that after a few years if they wanted to try it again with an older Spiderman and MJ and use some of those story lines I could imagine that working... but another origin story? Blarg.

Also, they are having Gwen Stacy in this one right? Are they killing her off? So does that mean we get another Green Goblin? William Defoe pretty much owned that roll...

I would think that there will be a green goblin in the next one if this is successful, which I'm sure it will be.

unless after this one disney/marvel buys the rights back which would be spectacular.

From what I've heard, I don't think they're killing off Gwen, which is a neat idea to me. I think Marc Webb is going to bring an interesting new eye to the Spider-Man movies, something a little less shiny and polished, and a little more fun.

It's funny how Gwen Stacy is kind of having a resurgence in the last few years, what with her still being around in Ultimate Spider-Man, her role in Spectacular Spider-Man, and this new movie.
