Pedophiles are attracted to Star Trek, eh?

I'm guessing the cops are right and the psychologists are completely full of shit. It's definitely escapism. Escaping to a world of fantasy without moral ambiguity. The only demographic that Star Trek memorabilia is going to attract is more 35 year old man children. If it's a lure for children, it's a terrible one.

Yes, because if there's one cause that earns you votes in the US and can't be turned against you by your opponents, it's improving the conditions for convicted criminals in prison.

It's less a "documentary" on MSNBC about prisons, and more "routine weekend programming" on MSNBC about prisons.

Pretty much all MSNBC airs on weekends is programming about prisons. And occasionally NBC Dateline with Chris Hansen, which has an 80% chance of being about pedophiles.

I went to La Tasca, a tapas/sangria restaurant in old town Alexandria a few days ago. Such rage I have for the miniscule portions doled out by those places. Paella is really their only saving grace, and there's maybe three or four spoonfuls in a seven dollar dish. GAH.

North Korea probably beats USA in percentage of its population imprisoned.

    Otherwise, USA wins that list.

What would the proper height rule be in the absence of data? I should ask OK Cupid for some data to determine the rule.

If I had to guess, I'd say that the rule is symmetric and guys prefer girls who are 2-8 inches shorter than they are and girls prefer guys who are 2-8 inches taller.

Maybe. I know at least in NZ we have had about 15 or so years of pretty steady incremental reform towards stiffer sentencing. Hell, we even adopted a three strikes law last year, for no good reason and despite having had twenty or so years to see how they work out in other jurisdictions.
