What you are missing neither of them are secular. Both are religious. You can't even get on the ballot in Iran unless you go through the guardian council. People who argue against processed sugar and HFCS tend to make horrible arguments. Which is funny, because I'm buying what they're selling. Chiefly to replace crap with tasty. A fresh baked brownie is so much more nom than a Little Debbie, and you'll eat fewer of them because the effort involved was more than nothing. Same with drinks. Coffee, tea, cocoa, and liquor is so much more enjoyable than coke or pepsi. Though cream soda is still pretty great.
