let me tell you how you curtail the power of imaginary robots in their imaginary future
you just say "the robots didn't get exponentially more powerful because nobody figured out how to make them any better"
the end
You don't need that to defeat them. Just hack them or upload virii.
yeah but you don't even need to make them super-powerful in the first place
We are talking about the imaginary robots of an imaginary worlds' imaginary future
They don't need to become anything other than we choose for them to be
if they need to become super-advanced machines then so be it
if they don't then they don't!
Not an option in super-hero comics. They need robots to be powerful to keep up with the elite metas (Superman, Thor etc). That goes double for super-villain robots. Ultron's an Avengers level threat. Unless he can keep up with an entire team they'll curbstomp him every chance he appears.

Yeah but he doesn't need to get exponentially more powerful in the future just because he's a robot and the future means better robots right?!?

Not always. The robots in LSH Threeboot were pathetic compared to the modern DCU.
A Terminator wouldn't last very long against many high end super-heroes from Marvel & DC, either.

Yes
that
that was my point
Unfortunately the future robots in LSH were to weak to be taken seriously. I certainly didn't feel like they were a threat to the Legion. Which makes them incompetent super-villains and creates boring stories.

Sometimes upgrades aren't better.
Just look at the T-1000 and that lady terminator from the third film.
Marvel taught me that any robot of sufficient intelligence will inevitably become evil UNLESS that robot was constructed by a robot that was ALREADY evil.
It's how the universe prevents robots from taking over.

That's not any different from organic super-heroes. They eventually become brainwashed into being evil. It's basically a rite of passage.

Soon
Depends on the upgrade. The T-1000 was a good upgrade.
Ultron 5's upgrade to 6 in Avengers: EMH was a good upgrade, too.
Doh, you're right. But his human host is a serial killer so...
It's how the universe prevents robots from taking over.
Good person+robot=bad robot
Bad person+robot=good robot
Neutral person+robot=???
impossible there are no neutral people

THAT'S chaos theory.
that's terror
it isn't like Hawkeye is suddenly writing Avenging Spider-Man in the Marvel Universe
I love Hawkeye and how much of a snarky jerk he is
I will have you know my friends consider me true neutral so there
Why do they think you're "neutral"?
I'm referring more to the "Oh who am I kidding, you saw the movie" stuff.
