I suppose a rounded education can be healthy. I vote Composure and Divination. But that depression is a problem. It seems that getting tens requires a lot of effort with penalty.
Some poison-knowledge would eventually be useful if people are already training attack-vipers.

I'll focus on attending services to offset the depression, unless anyone has a preference in terms of after school activities.

It depends what you want to raise. It boosts some stuff.
A heads up - you can't raise a skill above 50 until all three in the group are at 25. The game doesn't tell you this until you actually try to do so, so...
EDIT: also since the mood strikes us (hurr), let's go full-on Faith. Divination and Meditation. And I guess we should at least pay Daddy a visit once before we become queen. So he can see then how powerful we are compared to now, of course.

There is a prerequisite to unlocking Lumen, which should be fairly easy to piece together. I have no idea if it proves useful.

Weeks 6-7: Henshin-A-Go-Go
We'll make an athlete out of her yet.
She won't be falling to her death anytime soon, at least.
Or getting an aneurysm in the YMCA pool.
More visitors!
What is it? I already told you idiots, we're Protestant!
You have many questions, and the answers are within your grasp. You need only choose to seek them.
Speak to the Duchess of Ursul. She will guide you on your path. Buy her album, in stores now.
O-kaaaay.
Elodie decides to consult her father before she starts taking heads and putting them on walls.
The whole moved-to-Singapore thing was a lie, wasn't it?
She was a Lumen, a magic-user. It was meant to be in reserve, to defend our domain, but she insisted on...
... you don't need to hear that. She used magic. It drained her strength. She thought it was harmless, and it wasn't. Eventually, her heart just... stopped.
That's why I don't want you involved with it. Also, you would look terrible in a mini skirt.
Oh, we'll SEE ABOUT THAT.
To start proving him wrong, Elodie takes up her magical girl prerequisites.
Oh yes. Please do.
Uh, not that kind.
The Miss Cleo kind.
This could end badly, but...
She isn't elegant, but she is quick!
So finally, we heed the call of Fated Plot Development and go see Julianna.
What is it you wanted to teach me? We're totally going to learn how to make crystal meth, aren't we?
First, I need to know if you have your mother's crystal. I can make a pretty penny off it.
What crystal? The Mystical Silver Crystal? Some blonde girl with meatball hair took it.
The source of power for any Lumen is a particular magical crystal. Once you've bonded with it, it becomes a part of you as long as you live.
The Royal Crystal has been passed down from ruler to ruler for generations. It belongs to you, now - except that the King may be keeping it from you. You could just kill him, but most Princesses are reluctant to do that type of thing in my experience.
Do you have a crystal? I can take it from your cold dead hands!
Of course. And good luck with that, Jigglypuff.
You reach out to touch it, and it dissolves away into nothing.
Well, shit.
It belongs to me. No one can take it from me until I die. You need to find the crystal that belongs to you. Storm the castle! Claim his blood for your blood throne!
Not the worst of ideas...
Yet sadly, our budding psychopath's mood has yet to change.
Class votes and activities welcome.
There's a skill check coming, but I bet we'll fail it anyway. Visiting Daddy and Julianna are off the table, but planning to kill her fa-reclaim the crystal are in this season.
Like many choices in this game, it can open up new and exciting solutions to future problems, while introducing new ways for the game to kill you.
Anyway, I suggest we we take advantage of Elodie's terrified state to improve Reflexes, as that will eventually open up the Sports activity, which will give us an option to deal with loneliness and increase her ANGER. My choice for second class is either Dogs or Horses, probably Dogs first, but then Horses to unlock Hunting and a chance to improve our future tyrant's... disposition.

I fully endorse this course of action. Any would-be assassins will likely possess solid Reflexes, and Mount and Blade has taught me that Horses make you a god of death provided you don't get surrounded

Weeks 8-9: Foreign Affair Specialist
Elodie decides that to be an effective assassin, she must be faster, and... befriend all manners of woodland creatures.
(Hey, it worked for Strider.)
First, reflexes!
Knives for stabbing, poison for choking, crossbows at a distance, they'll never knowing (*)
After, uh, practicing her jump rope skills. she go and meets the local canines.
who's a good puppy
Don't. touch me.
Ooh, a visitor! Ciao, Sparky!
I will end her.
There is a man here to see you. He wishes Crown funding for a project of his.
Remember, the treasury is not unlimited. If you choose to invest, you will have less money to work with later. And I will have less earnings with which to fund my drinking habits, which I assure you are considerable.
I need to borrow 875 lassi to assemble the metal and a factory to mold and cast the type.
With this system, we will be able to create new books in a fraction of the time it takes now, and make copies to send all over the world. These proposed texts are not at all intended to encourage the masses to become educated and rise up against our outdated monarchy establishment.
No ma'am.
(I don't know much about factories or trade. Would that really be worthwhile?) (Not to mention reading is kind of overrated these days.)
We are not interested. Bring ones with pictures next time!
This isn't over, monarchy spawn.
Having demonstrated her total lack of literary knowledge to the world, Elodie moves on to more important matters.
It's in a safe place. Guarded. By hounds. And snakes. And swinging pendulums.
Can I have it? Bearing in mind that I will use it to render your flesh into crumbling dust?
No. It keeps our electric bills low.
Well, at least when you die it will be.
Meddling with magic killed your mother. I don't want that to happen to you.
Once you're crowned Queen, I can't stop you from doing anything you want, but for now you are still a child. Then you can die as she did. Think of the life insurance benefits.
That went well!
Elodie decides to take out her aggressions with more athletics.
Must. not. commit. patricide.
Then she visits the stables!
Nice horsey! Let's ride, peasant.
Girl have you ever even seen a saddle before
Sure! We have lots in the armory!
(endless internal agony)
Shortly after, er, befriending the local equestrians...
More bishonen quotient, coming right up!
Thank you. Shame about the whole falling anvil thing.
However, I must call for your aid. The Ixionite occupation of the county of Imbrium has gone on for too long. Now is the time to push back. We will need a thousand of your finest men, and a few hundred canisters of hydrochloric acid. Oh, and scotch.
They must really like it there!
Though having armies to do it for me does sound nice...
There must be a peaceful way to settle this. I will send for diplomats from Ixion and try to come to some arrangement. If that doesn't work, I'll paint the countryside in their blood!
Your Highness, if I may ask... That necklace you're wearing. Where did it come from? The local flea market?
It was a gift from the Duke of Sedna. It will go great with your entrails!
Then, you have made arrangements with him? My, you are a bold one.
Floral?
Your Highness, that is a courting gift. The man wishes to gain your hand in marriage. It's technically illegal, but we often overlook age restrictions when there are considerable profits involved.
Oh. I didn't realise. I can always kill him if we don't get along, right?
That... is one way around it...
Now that she's become a master of courting, Elodie decides to find out how to go reclaim what is rightfully hers!
Aside from her father's head.
My father says I can't have the crystal until I'm Queen, so we'll just have to wait. Until I bury him.
There may not be time to wait.
This world is filled with dangers, and you will need the powers of a Lumen to fight them.
You can't begin training until you have bonded with your crystal. Have you considered arsenic-coated lip gloss?
Well, what else am I supposed to do about it? Makeup's not in this season!
The crystal is probably held under guard in the Royal Treasury. You are the princess; you should be able to find a way inside.
Otherwise we might have to take drastic action. Such as implying the presence of a three-headed monkey.
How will Elodie proceed?
Also, more class votes will be needed.
And, Elodie can now play Tennis!
Obviously we are going to make Elodie a magical girl assassin queen, though I don't think we're going to see the inside of the treasury without some drastic actions (not with all of us telling you what to do each week, anyway.)
I was never able to accomplish it in my last attempt. Place must have the Swiss Guard running it.
If I remember right, the ways to get your Lumen Crystal are:
1. Visit the Treasury with at least 70 in Presence
2. Visit the Treasury with at least 60 in Accounting
3. After a certain number of weeks/attempts, return to you Lumen instructor, who will take the "drastic action" to get it for you
Again, "Drastic Measures" seem like the surest way of getting the Crystal, but I have no idea what steps we have to take before Elodie agrees with it, (it might even be something that doesn't become available until a certain week) so maybe one of the other ways would be better...
Anyway, for next week I vote for Court Manners and something out of Faith, either Divination or Meditation
For the Weekend... If we can stick to a plan I say we have Elodie play Sports. That *should* make her Yielding, if I've been following her emotions right, if so, next week's classes should be a Presence and Composure.

Correction to spoiler:
Fairly certain its 70 accounting too. One failure to get in is enough to trigger drastic action.

Might be right about the accounting, but I'm pretty sure it's not *just* fail it once and the option shows up; just tried it myself about 15 minutes ago, and even after several failures and a week or so past the point the LP is at, the option to return to the instructor for drastic action never showed. Unless the option to come up comes before Week 13-14, we should be able to get it faster by getting Elodie's Presence to 70, even in this LP.

I recall the drastic action also pisses her father off, which while amusing, won't be conducive to Elodie's world domination schemes.

Week 9 (Interlude): Novan Hospitality
What do you mean by drastic action? Ooh, does it involve firebombs? Please say it involves firebombs!
Let's hope it doesn't come to that.
Try to reach the crystal. If you can't, come and talk to me again. Expect ridicule.
After her disastrous display with the average noble, Elodie decides she needs to learn about playing nice.
That dress is so nice! Was it inherited or bought at a thrift store?
She, uh, has a ways to go.
At least her Divination is coming along!
If you need a Celtic Cross reading, you know where to turn.
Let's see how diplomacy works in way of resolving this Ixion drama.
The representative from Ixion is here. Be careful - no one wants to give up prizes that they have won. And do try not to stutter this time.
You have the full support of my sister and myself, Your Highness. Unless you screw up, in which case we'll be five minutes late for the door.
These nails won't paint themselves.
Elodie can't bring much to the conversation, sadly.
Let bygones be bygones, no? We will forget about your unprovoked attacks on us, and you will transfer the rights to this little province. (This is so much easier than that Princess Sim lead us to believe.)
Elodie also fails some military checks. I bet this is making a great first impression!
We can be good neighbors again, without any lives being lost. Though I suppose we could kill that Duchess for good measure.
cj iwakuraThe Rhythm RegentBears The Name FreedomRegistered Userregular
Weeks 10-11: Rise of an Empire
The bad news? Elodie has no clue what's up with this diplomacy talk.
The good news? Who needs talk when you have an executioner?
OFF WITH HIS HEAD!
With pleasure, m'lady.
Ship that back to Ixion. If they know what's good for them, they'll get out of my way.
Now that we've demonstrated our saintly patience... anger management!
Severed heads make lovely tennis balls!
Very balanced, but quite Yielding.
The next syllabus, to try and lighten her mood:
No joke.
Will this lessen her bloodlust? Who knows!
M'lady, a report on the outcome of the battle against the Ixionites.
We succeeded in driving them out of Maree, but it cost us almost a full battalion of soldiers and a great deal of materiel.
We lost 1032 soldiers.
I expect tens of thousands dead next time!
We have received a letter informing us that Talarist, Duke of Sedna, will be arriving for an official visit next week.
With that, let's see if the good king can help with this crystal business!
Dad, if this trouble with Ixion started years ago, why didn't Mom fix it? What kind of slacker did you knock up?
Your mother told the Duke of Maree and the Duchess of Hellas that it was their problem and they should sort it out themselves. She did not foresee how pathetic they were.
Oh. Should I have done that? And taken THEIR heads?
The situation is different now. Everyone on all sides wishes to see what sort of Queen is coming to the throne. And how best to exploit her.
but soon, I'll be the one doing the judging.)
And now she's quite Yielding.
For the next session, in addition to class votes, the Treasury is now open for business! Uh, so to speak. Can Elodie retake her crystal yet, or should she bide her time?

Hopefully the two coincide.
Despite her depression, she finally makes progress:
It's a start.
It's certainly not empty, though. It seems like we get more servants every day.
I was so worried about Charlotte, after that snake bit her...
But her mother said she's okay, so I guess it turned out all right.
Maybe she has a guardian angel!
You failed me for the last time, snake.
Next time Charlotttte, next tiiiiiiime
I can never summon anything! Crowley made it look so easy...
Current Mood:
Depression's almost cured!
A better stat overview:
Another good remedy for snake bites is to know how to cure them, if not to preempt them entirely.
Elodie practices both.
She's a veritable track star!
And now she knows a secondary use for grilling materials.
One of the maids approaches for your attention.
Something about a massive alcohol shortage.
I guess that globe thing has uses besides stabbing practice.
... No, my Lady. The duchy of Sedna is in Talasse.
They have brought you a letter, and a gift.
Assuming you know how to read.
'Condolences on the death of', 'deeply regret', 'best wishes'...
Oh! What a beautiful necklace!
That's it, I'm going back to the brothel.
To finish off her depression, Elodie goes to the gardens.
I guess she finds solace in loneliness.
He loves me, he loves me not, he escapes unscathed, he bleeds a lot...
Uh, I think.
All she needs to do is get tougher!
Class votes and activity votes will both be helpful.

If I remember right, the ways to get your Lumen Crystal are:
2. Visit the Treasury with at least 60 in Accounting
3. After a certain number of weeks/attempts, return to you Lumen instructor, who will take the "drastic action" to get it for you
Anyway, for next week I vote for Court Manners and something out of Faith, either Divination or Meditation
For the Weekend... If we can stick to a plan I say we have Elodie play Sports. That *should* make her Yielding, if I've been following her emotions right, if so, next week's classes should be a Presence and Composure.

Hey!
Hmmm...
What to do?

Or bluff, either one will work.
Although...

We're most likely going to die anyway; might as well take as many down with us in a brief blaze of bloody glory.
So... this is basically Princess Maker?

In preparation, we should cultivate our dictator persona by fine-tuning our Presence and Composure.
If it was set in Westros.
I say Elegance and Composure, both have to be at least 25 before we can boost Presence high enough to get into the treasury
..and the way skill bonuses work, filling them up first will fill Presence faster.
