I have partaken of the air of finality...

I love how the Weird Twins are on their knees, praying to the Fire King.

And that was a real nice story, full of warm fuzzy feelings :)

For the requisite Camp Weedonwantcha level of horrifying, next comic we find out dad-cat was napping in the pile.

Whistle boy, kid who studies pee, Purdy throwing a stick, weird kid that stalks Malachi in his sleep, the twins, they're all there.

Their eyebrows! Reminds me (in a very good way) of one of my favorite authors growing up, Pat McManus... he wrote short stories and one of them was "Poof - no Eyebrows" about playing with fire which is absolutely hilarious. I'm excited to see the aftermath of them burning everything.

@diamondflaw, as soon as you said eyebrows and author I knew exactly what you were talking about. Patrick McManus was AWESOME. That story is from the book They Shoot Canoes Don't They and it's fantastic. The other books in his "series" are excellent as well. Thanks for a flood of memories.

I'm sooo fighting the urge to nitpick.
"Chill, man, it's a comic. No need to point out they would not be able to stand this close to the fire."

How far can this towering inferno actually be seen? Who, or what, else might come to investigate? Tune in next week for more: CAMP WEEDONWANTCHA

Wasn't that the Dad cat next to Malachai in panel 7 of "Beacon"? Thought so anyway. That's why I laughed at him telling Malachai Jr. that he wasn't able to find his Dad.

"Chill, man, it's a comic. No need to point out they would not be able to stand this close to the fire."

It's Movie Fire. Like Movie Lava, it doesn't actually burn you unless you touch it.

Very funny joke on the first panel "I was going to do it (light the fire) ! ME! How could you be so SELFISH?"

Things I don't see in the fire:
    1) burning toilet
    2) hidden "Skadi"

This comic scares the heck out of me. This would be a good place to leave everything. Don't you DARE stop making this comic until I find out more about the twins!!

So I just had a weird observation unrelated to this strip in particular but concerning the early comic:
In strip 24, Malachi lost his shoes but at the end of it, Proto Kid is sitting there with Malachi's shoes on his hands.
In strip 25 panel 4, you can see what looks like Malachi's socks. Presumably he does wear his shoes. But from then on all the way 'till strip 27, his shoes are nowhere to be seen. Then suddenly, without any explanation, strip 29 reintroduces his shoes and, to my knowledge he has them ever since.
    What happened there?
And while we're at it, I always wondered what's up with that weird numbering. Why start at 23? And what happened to strip 28?

more relatedly, this was a great story arc. I wonder how long it'll take for those eye brows and hair to regrow.

SO. Those creepy twins appear to be worshiping the fire.
I hope they haven't stuck some camper in there like this is The Wicker Man.
