I have to ask: Are the images you posted at fullsize (e.g. your workspace size)? Because if not how on earth do you work on this w/o experiencing constant crashes in PS (I'm assuming you're using PS)? Unless you have a rig that has like 2+GB of RAM or something I'd really like to know if you're doing anything special to keep the RAM usage down because back when I was working on a 150" x 33" banner at 50 DPI I basically had to spend half my time trying to figure out ways to get Photoshop not to crash every time I opened the damn file.
Ended up splitting it into several PSDs and merging them later on in one delicate operation, but working on seperate sections of an image and trying to get it to align/blend seamlessly really, really sucked.
Or does PS run smooth as butter for you?
The actual size is 3000 pixels tall x 26000 pixels wide. The computer has 1 gig of ram, and a 3.4GHz processor. The only time I have to wait is when I'm using the 999 size brush, when I accidently use the magic wand to select everything, cropping, resizing, and saving. But I've only had an error once, so now I just save before going to surf the net.
Also: Nobody's mentioned the Scooby-Doo reference, I guess it might be difficult to see without animation.

Are you using PS CS2? My workspace was around twice the size of your document, and my old PC also had a gig of RAM...but a 2.4 P4. I don't think processor speed should contribute to crashing though =\ Even then after I had split the file into 2 PSDs it still took a hell of a long time just to open the damn document (>3 minutes). And saving would always fail because there 'isn't enough memory to complete the operation'.
I'm assuming that every character you do here is on a seperate layer too? If so you'd have around the same no. of layers I did as well. Maybe it was the photos I had to import and place around the damn banner design as well...but argh for all I know it could have been the fact that I usually kept alternating between PS and Illustrator.
My god I don't know how I bothered working on that banner for over a month.
Every character on a different layer? No no, that'd be silly. I have about 5 layers right now I think. 1 for additional things that go over top of my character lines (like the greyed out parts of NotaCrook's sign board), the character lines, the colour, the background line and objects, and the flat background colour.
I'm using an old version of Photoshop that came with my tablet, PS LE. I like it better than the other programs I've tried (GiMP, Open Canvas, etc.), and it has everything I really need (except for a line tool and a circle tool).
Adorable sig, Marshmallow!
Very welcome, #Pipe!
Oh hey, I might not be updating tomorrow instead, so here's this.
Unfortunately I fudged some cropping and some saving, and the copy on this computer is as long as the above. But my computer has the file with the whole length (except the new stuff), so it's all cool!
It turns out PS won't do files above 30 000 width, so I had to split it up. Nearly 50 people in almost 30 000 pixels. I'll keep going, maybe try for 100 and stop there.

Wait what?
You're on the poster.
I didn't even think I had this av/sig combo for that long.
I'd totally do something like this, except my art sucks ass.
Sheri is carrying me and Taters and Quetze and it's the cutest thing ever!
not quite enough to make a sig out of...
but still super cute! Thanks Campion!
Need some stuff designed or printed? I can help with that.

This really is some whimsically wonderful art.

Haha, excellent sig.

So who is everyone else?
because
um
I asked you so nicely
you see?
I even said please.
Just now. In italics. Right there.
I also have no clue what's going on in your avatar.
I actually have a great picture berk drew of "me" that would make a pretty good reference, if you like
also, your art is utterly fantastic and adorable, your lines are so expressive that it makes me insanely jealous
Are you typically seen "armed to the gills" like that?
um... yeah!
Is there any way I could get in there?!?!?
like, super awesome
Grand work
damnit thats what I get for trying to do anything with a migraine.
I am this guy
I cannot find the full image, and I apoligize, but it is basically Uncle Sam
that is the bottom part of it, I am just zombified
and I need to change that, because Halloween is over
You are drawing me deeper and deeper into the Artist Corner.
As mentioned, no updates tonight, as I'm now living in lands far away, and my stuff isn't unpacked.
And Zot, you are funny, because puns are great.
Thats an awesome picture campion, I love the subtle colors and stuff, reminds me of a childrens book.
