As reported by Shack News, Batman will debut a new Crowd Play function boasting two modes. The first allows the whole room, or crowd, to make decisions based on a majority vote, while the second allows the main player to have ultimate ruling on any decisions. When opted into, Crowd Play will generate a URL which can be accessed by all participating players on smart devices and PCs.
Apparently more than 2,000 people can vote on a single game, which would make for an interesting cinema experience, and an even more interesting streaming experience
Plus there's the mode where everyone votes but the primary player has final say
Which sounds way less fun to me
I want fully single player or fully clusterfuck
With the way it sounds, it doesn't really seem to be adding much to the experience. The original multiplayer idea doesn't sound terribly fun either, because having a group of trolls voting on your actions in a game seems pretty horrible. Batman voting himself out of the EU, and electing Trump as head of Wayne Enterprises.

I mean, it's a url you share, so you can just not invite trolls
Yeah like, I'm imagining giving that URL to the dozen people hanging out at my house while I play this dumb game so they can vote on their smartphones
It goes up to a higher level, yeah
But I don't have that many chairs
If you're a pro streamer, there's likely enough serious fans to balance out doofuses, and if you're not, you just don't share it publicly.
Depends on how rigorous the website security is, really. I can imagine it being loose enough that people can make bots to just choose all of the worst options.

Alternately, it'll be great at PAX, like last year when they did a crowd play-through of Tales from the Borderlands. Not sure how they solicited votes that time, but this will make it a little easier.
Man, Tim Sweeny has gone full-on tinfoil hat about Windows 10. He's now saying that Microsoft will slowly patch Windows 10 to make Steam more and more buggy until they abandon it for the Windows 10 store. (As if Valve wouldn't find a way around that shit.)
Valve built an entire product line based on Windows 10 panic, and subsequently abandoned it. I don't think they're worried, and if they're not worried, I'm not worried.

Valve would actually be able to afford to take Microsoft to court over something like this. So somehow I doubt it.

Look up racketeering.

I, too, am not worried about Microsoft committing a Literal Crime

The techno that beats in actually makes it worse!
it's closer to negotiation between a corporation and the director
unless you mean the timed dialogue options, those would just probably have a longer timer for people to get their vote in right?
Everyone else just gets to vote on dialogue options when they come up
what I mean is who is controlling them, its clearly not everyone
that answers that

sounds like a precaution against trolls, I think? I'd imagine that this could be a clusterfuck of a stream game, in a bad way

I wouldn't want to do it that way for my first playthrough, but it sounds like a good way to spend a Friday night

I was planning on buying this at release anyway, so I could do that
