I maek poast, for all the good it did me. Invisible castle seems to hate me. Of course, I tend to roll this way while playing with real dice, so it's probably just some kind of karmic retribution.
Btw, the extra credits were tip as well as currying her favor for information, I don't know what kind of modifier that might give.
It's looking like I'm the comic relief so far, guys, what with my piss-poor skillchecks and snarky attitude.
Edit: I'm up for either option, just give the word, really. If I had to choose a side I'd probably go with the Dirty Dozen idea, but I'm totally down with either.
Well I am up for a redesign. May I suggest if we start at lvl8, why not start us already in a dramatic combat scene to really start off the campaign with a bang, or slash pending your weapon of choice.... of course.

I'm thinking that we combine the more active members from both groups and redo. The options are:
1. Continue in the NJO era. I would likely have you guys have your characters start at Level 8 (so you can be full-fledged Jedi Knights/Elite Troopers and so we can get some epic Jedi vs Vong duels going on).
2. We choose another background for the story. Back when this thread first started, I threw around the idea of having a group of Masterless Ex-Padawans go all Dirty Dozen on the baddies.
If you still want in, let me know which you'd prefer. Please be available to post at least once every two days, but preferably at least once a day.
I'm fine with that, and I want to apologize for dropping off this last week. I've been battling a stomach virus and trying to keep down foods of all kinds. Let me know what you want to do so I will know weather or not to post tonight.
I'm fine with NJO. I kind of like not having expectations about a campaign (I've read very little NJO).

I'd like to continue in the NJO. I'm satisfied with Zilvad, I'd just make him an elite trooper or something if we're going to raise our levels.

I'm satisfied with my character, but I'd be cool with a different setting. Playing Jedi but having our main opponents being resistant to the force is kind of a downer. I want to force choke some fools...
I would indeed like to continue playing. Personally I dislike the New Jedi Order era primarily because the Yuuzhan Vong strike me in many ways as an attempt to "clean house" and kill off a whole bunch of major characters and re-arrange the entire bloody galaxy. I could've understood it if it weren't "Oh yeah, but these guys come from outside the galaxy". It all struck me as a very reversed deus-ex-machina.
But anyway. I'll play in any era you stipulate, and hell, if you want me to, I can even rework my character. By all means.
Also: I approve of levelling up. But then, I think that'd bring out a lot of diversity in the group, as well.

To me the Vong are way too dragonball z.
Because you've beaten the bad guy, and man, he was like the most powerful bad guy ever.
"But wait... suddenly from the depths of outer space comes an even more powerful opponent!"
I like the idea of the Vong. I think Jedi are a big deus ex machina. Good to put the claspers on em. Also, the fact that they acknowledged that they were in fact in a universe and not just in their little galaxy was kind of cool.
The whole dragon ball analogy doesn't really fit either, because there are actually like 10 sith lords during the Vong invasion doing who-knows-what (I think).
Jacques is right, there was a secret cabal of Sith during that time period, but as it was written, they seem to be the weird group of kids in HS who pretend that they have Satanic rituals, but they really just meet together to play D&D and eat nachos. Later, it seems a more powerful dark-side user takes control of the group and makes it into an actual force to be reckoned with.
Here's the deal: If you still want in, remake your characters as Level 8's. This will allow Jedi to be Jedi Knights if they wish, and allow the non-Jedi to go into Elite Trooper, Gunslinger, or Officer if they like.
If you want to play, please be able to post at least once every two days. I understand that sometimes things come up and you can't make a post for longer periods of time than that, but if it becomes a regular thing, your character might be dropped. Also, RP is really an essential thing for me. If the group isn't interacting with each other well, then everyone gets bored, in my opinion.
So far we have the vote being a 50/50 split (more or less) for sticking with NJO or going the other route. I'm going to stick with the NJO, but if anyone here wants to split off and GM the other idea, I'd be willing to help you with NPC interactions and things like that.
Whether or not I'm into the NJO changes depending on when you ask me. Currently I'm 'meh' towards it, but I'm in the camp that's crying foul at the Vong. Not only do they come from outside the known regions of space with intent to conquer and enslave, but, oh yeah, the Force doesn't work on them.
Phitt was definitely going to be a lightsaber oriented warrior, because why cultivate force powers when by and large they amount to bupkiss against your primary adversary?
I'm more than willing to play a campaign set in the NJO, and enjoy it, the Vong just kind of get my goat at the moment. That said, I do think that some of the EU allusions to the Vong having scouted out the galaxy for a long ass time are awesome, like a lot of the implications that Revan was uniting the Sith not with an overtly evil intent, but to unite the galaxy against a threat coming from outside the galaxy, and Canderous' encounter with the frozen coralskipper that he chased to the edge of the galaxy before he quit.
Anyway, I cast my vote for whatever else the majority wants.
Yah I really want to keep playing but I am getting married in less than a month, and between work and planning I doubt I could keep up with you guys. So, I am bowing out, thanks for the fun while it lasted ^_^
Congratulations Vathris! Speaking as someone who got married less than a year ago myself, getting ready to get married is a huge timesink. Good luck with all that!
Here's my character sheet again (at 8th level). I was really trying to make a Jedi Officer build, but I couldn't think of anything good so mostly I'm just a seer and noncombatant. If you don't like Visions talent Pope then I can always change it out.
So, levelbump to 8 and continue from there? I'll see if I don't pass out for a week upon returning from work today; barring that I'll have my sheet up today or tomorrow.

Ok, I'll update my char sheet soon then.

My sheet is updated. I'm pretty sure I did everything right. Here's to hoping.
I did keep him as a full on Lightsaber specialist, as was his original concept. I may not've necessarily chosen the BEST abilities at every level, but I think I did pretty well.
armored defense makes it +8 unless I am misunderstanding how it works, and there was already a +1 there from something I forget when i added armored defense.

WEll, reading ARmored Defense, it means you add EITHER your level or your armor bonus to your Reflex Defense, not both, that's why I was confused. Meaning your +8 from your level and your +8 from your armor do not stack, so it's just +8 either way.
The damage bonus is plus half your heroic level. I believe the armor bonus is equal to your heroic level, though. If I'm wrong, feel free to chefck and let me know.
Edit: The Armored Defense talent essentially lets you use the higher of your level or Armor bonus, whereas without the talent, you must use your armor bonus if you're wearing it, even if your level bonus is higher. I just checked.
Armored Defense works decently at lower levels. It can be augmented at higher levels if you take Improved Armored Defense, which lets you add half your armor's defense bonus to your Reflex Defense.
So far the three posted sheets look good. For the Jedi characters, you're allowed to be full on Knights now, so your characters are a bit more accomplished. It might be a good idea to add some important events into your back stories.
I'm looking to get the rest of the sheets by Sunday night. If I don't have at least 4, I'll re-advertise in the Set-Up thread until we have at least 4 players.
I'll see what I can do, I've been pretty busy between work and prepping for my own gm'ing sessions, and I've never leveled a character to higher than like 3 from the start before, oddly enough. Tomorrow should be a good day though, I'll have a few hours before game-time, I'm sure it won't be terribly hard.
As far as backstory, is it the same time period, only we're 7 levels higher now and thus our backstories took place prior to our arrival on Coruscant? Not sure I'm following what we're doing here, exactly.
I know, I know, I'm still waiting on two people who told me they'd get sheets to us. If I don't receive word, or don't get them by Thursday, then I'll open recruitment for one or two more players.

A NEW CHALLENGER APPEARS!
I'll try very hard to have it up by tomorrow night.
http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheets/view.php?id=34703
be sure to tell me if you notice any mistakes. the HP rolls are here:
bumping krullssk to lvl 8 (1d10+3=9, 1d10+3=12, 1d10+3=13, 1d10+3=9, 1d10+3=11, 1d10+3=9, 1d10+3=6)
I did keep him as a full on Lightsaber specialist, as was his original concept. I may not've necessarily chosen the BEST abilities at every level, but I think I did pretty well.
Anyhow. Here y'go.
if not more so.
Where's that massive +9 to his Reflex Save he has listed under Misc Mod coming from?
WEll, reading ARmored Defense, it means you add EITHER your level or your armor bonus to your Reflex Defense, not both, that's why I was confused. Meaning your +8 from your level and your +8 from your armor do not stack, so it's just +8 either way.
Or so my understanding runs.
edit: wait, isn't it normally just .5 of your level? so it would still be a +4 bonus?
edit again: never mind i'm stupid.
edit the third: so since its already either your lvl or your armor bonus, what is the point of armored defense?
Edit: The Armored Defense talent essentially lets you use the higher of your level or Armor bonus, whereas without the talent, you must use your armor bonus if you're wearing it, even if your level bonus is higher. I just checked.
oh, and the +1 in my reflex is from the Natural Armor species trait.
