From the awesome original movie, to the regrettable second, the forgettable third, and the campalicious series, I am entirely too fond of Highlander.
Hulu has the first season up, which I'm enjoying.
Anyone else remember the animated series? Any decent series has to have a few hilariously terrible spinoffs.
I still haven't seen the fifth movie. I'm not really in a hurry, based on what I heard about the Russian leak.
Duncan or Conner? If you say Amanda you die.

"two highlanders can't gang up on a third? whatever. In this movie it's 1 v 20
So did the second, fourth, and the series. The fourth actually did that same thing, though they did point out that it wasn't supposed to happen. They even had multiple killings on holy ground.
i.e. horsemen of the word i can't spell

There sure are a lot of MacLeods who also turn out to be immortal.
"That" being completely ignore any attempt at continuity with the preceding works.
The fourth movie is the first time I know of that they broke the "one on one" rule.
There was. It was terrible.
oh god the anime sucked pretty hard.

they totally shit on the one on one rule
I HAVE INSIDE ME BLOOD OF KINGS
I HAVE NO RIVAL
NO MAN CAN BE MY EQUAL
take me to the future of your woooooorld
at least it kind of made a little bit of fucking sense as compared to the second
I'll agree to this.
Also, the bad guy in the first one is the voice of Spongebob's boss.
which film had sean connery
Highlander- Conner is killed, Sena Connery is his mentor, dude kills Sean way back when, Conner kills dude in the 1980s
Highlander II- Sean Connery is resurrected to help Conner defeat a corporate superpower and extradimensional immortals in the distant future. Also magic
Highlander III- Conner isn't really the last immortal, there was another one hiding in a cave or something. He may or may not be a wizard.
Highlander: Endgame- Conner goes into a coma on holy ground along with a bunch of others to make sure that the wrong person won't win the game. One of these wrong people breaks in and kills all of them except Conner. He gest a gang together to jump all of the other immortals walking around, Duncan and Conner team up to kill him and end the game.
Highlander: The Source- Duncan fights some dudes, and probably wins the game again.
Someone is "the one" in every movie. Sometimes theres a flimsy reason behind why last time didn't count. Most of the time there isn't.
The first and second. The third might have had him in some of the recycled footage, I don't remember.

Not terribly. I think some of the TV show was kind of neat, but nothing spectacular from what I've heard.
that looked uber gay
Oh come on, Shoe.
It's been over 10 hours since that thread disappeared, so why not make a new one?
You know, like the ones about new clothes or not jerking off or...
I thought you'd understand the time cycle around here by now.
If it sucks, it has to be repeated with greater frequency.
That's why Riotcow threads only happen on certain secret holy days and are never the same thread twice.
Let's go start a thread about who would win in a fight, Chuck Norris or David Hasslehoff.
The fourth is a continuation and modernization of the series- lots of dudes with swords killing each other for some reason and also Duncan gets the ladies.
The series was good, but very eighties. It's pretty cheesy, lots of filler, but occasionally the writers were allowed to do something neat. I never actually watched the finale because after the Ahriman thing was resolved, season six turned into a pile of shit. They were trying to do The Raven, but failing even worse. I should take care of that.
I can never decide if it's awesome or terrible.
Nope, its cover.
Anyone watch that new series on Fox, New Amsterdam?
It's about a modern day homicide detective in New York that goes by the name of John Amsterdam. He was a solider 400 years ago and they were fighting Native Americans and another guy was cold killing the females and Amsterdam tried to stop him and got a fucking sword ran through his heart for his trouble. He wakes up that night surrounded by that chick and some other old American Indian ladies, they had done some juju on him and brought him back, they tell him he won't age or die until he finds the one true love. That we all supposedly only have one soul mate throughout all time.
He wears the stereotypical detective threads, drab colored dress shirt and tie thats been loosened slightly and the top button undone. Along with a sweet knee length black leather trench coat.
He is funny, and reckless, a loner except for one friend who knows the truth. He's pretty good at what he does and is really smart, knows his history because he lived it.
Lots of flashbacks, he makes offhanded comments about his past that make people think he's odd. Takes a picture of time square every year with the same camera and from the same spot since cameras have been around.
8 episodes are out and you can watch them all on Hulu.com (and it's legal).
edit: suffers from the occasionally bad green screen shot.
