Holy dammit Christmas! This mess with the loans, the one I'm trying to secure for further schooling? Looks like the rabbit hole goes deeper than I realized.
The US Government just revoked something like 21 billion dollars in federal student aid funding, and the trickle down effect of that has been a colossal shift in the private lending market. When a student loan is taken out by Bank A, it's usually sold to Bank B (ad naseum) and eventually paid back in full by the original student borrower. The problem now, however, is that Bank B hasn't been buying the loans anymore leaving them all with Bank A and Bank A said "Fuck it! We're not lending to students anymore until the market clears up."
I'm sort of the Vanguard on this problem since I'm trying to suss it out for the summer semester, but come this Fall I suspect things will get real ugly if a solution hasn't formed in the meantime. In the interim, however, I'm stuck trying to help form that solution.
This is a sad sign of adulthood for me; when global market changes actually directly effect me. Instead of the days when I could play with my toys and oatmeal and hear about all this bad weather brewing but never actually feel any of it.
HA, that doesn't surprise me. I remember when they cut 30billion from student funding a few years ago. I was fucking pissed. I'm lucky enough that I can still get loans...but I do have a trust fund that lost $1000 in the past year. That's my "emergency money" that I'm going to have to delve into this summer to buy myself a new car (current vehicle can't make it down to my school in Georgia). I was actually expecting to just let it sit for another 5-10 years and gather monies, or use it to help pay off my loans right after graduating, if I was having trouble...guess not though. That makes me nervous. :-\
WAY TO GO, BUSH ADMINISTRATION!
I hope you can find a way to get things worked out...but if not, there's always a chance that you may be able to work it out the following year...or, worst case scenario, eventually. I wish you the best of luck! Things work out in the end.
Dont blame the banks or the government ... blame the people that let their loans go into bad debt ...
If people took responsability seriously and were as mature and well informed as they think they are then the voting booths, juries and loan offices would be far better utilized.
At some point people are goint to have to stop pointing fingers and look in the mirror.
Myself included as I am HUGELY in debt due to student loans, dont vote and avoid jury duty.

We're gonna need a montage (montage)
Oh it takes a montage (montage)
I've got a question for you guys. Why did we have to spend in total 1,400 dollars trying to find out what was wrong with my cat while she was alive, but it's free once she's dead?

Films that are ten years old aren't quite relevant in this conversation about whether anyone says "dude" anymore.
Also, that's a really bad advertisement.

I also say dude a lot, though.
Are you a bad enough dude to save the internet?

EDIT: Man, you really get infracted for the weirdest things around here.
P.S. Avatar is the best show ever made ever.
The animation quality has declined since the first season, but their writing is still good.
