I do remember before I started smoking and I was living at the dorms, a campus security guard an RA knocked on my door asking to search the dorm because they smelled a "large marijuana cloud" outside our balcony. Geniuses didn't seem to understand that maybe the "cloud" rose from the lower floors upward.
(And of course I didn't consent to the search despite being in the clear - the look on their faces when I told them I didn't consent was priceless)

Really I don't think it's cool to smoke in your dorm room if your roommate isn't totally okay with it. And I say that as a frequent smoker.
