that is pretty sweet. How old is that anyways? White the text is pretty dated, the rest is pretty damn modern looking.
Its pretty old, at least early 90's if I remember (could just look it up I guess). Didnt know this but I guess they got most of their box art from YES album cover artist Roger Dean (taken from a quick wikipedia search). The guys stuff is very 70/80's fantasy and pretty cool looking.
While us PAL guys usually get screwed on release dates and price, at least they're doing something right.
AND YET:
Um, I may very well be misreading the post, but can you tell me what's wrong with this? It's an abstract puzzle game, I can't see anything wrong with a person visualising it in their head, and I quite like it.
For my contribution, I pick...
I like the art style on this one.
Also, this might one have a few detractors, but;
It's just so unique, which is why I like it. Also, it stands out SO much on store shelves cause it's bright fucking orange. Awesome.
One I just remembered that I haven't seen posted yet. Even if it was, it deserves another post. Jet Set Radio.
You know I was thinking that game would have a good cover and did a google search earlier but all I came up with was this version (which wasn't that great)
Well the original JP cover wasn't that great either. That cover is for De La Jet Set Radio which is pretty much what everyone else got. The original JP version was buggy as shit with things like the computer screwing up its own tricks when they're showing what you need to do to recruit a character. De La was released to fix all those bugs so the game would actually be playable.
cj, you're right, it does go nicely with my sig. It kind of fits the premise for what JSR was about. Or at least JSRF.
Their Finest Hour. First flight sim that I fell madly in love with. Red Baron was the second.
Sentinel Worlds I: Future Magic. I saw this in a magazine ad and wanted it badly, just based on the art and a short paragraph summary.

Wasn't this the cover of De La Jet Set Radio?
I could be wrong, but I do own the original Japanese version of JSR, and it has the very cover you posted.
Huh, I saw a different one online. Maybe I saw a mislabeled PAL version. Oh well, both covers are cool. If you own it I'll take your word on it.
Edit: Yeah looking at the title I can see it's JSR and the one you posted is De La. I really like how the title doesn't seem to mess with the picture very much. It's not distracting.
The eighties (and early nineties) were awesome for cover art.

...and I thought of how all those people died, and what a good death that is. That nobody can blame you for it, because everyone else died along with you, and it is the fault of none, save those who did the killing.
How do so many people not know not to link from Mobygames?
Fricking hell, you're right. Argh. Must re-host.
Edit - there's a problem with Photobucket too, isn't there? Please tell me there isn't because I'm not getting out of bed, turning on my desktop and finding out the new password I was sent that is stored in Filezilla. It can wait until tomorrow if so.
Editedit - Never mind, got it sorted.

I've always been a fan of the Chrono Trigger cover
Loved, just love the game but I never actually thought the box art was that great personally.
It could be my liking of Toriyama's art style gives me a bias. I think I kind of like how the snow juxtaposes against the black border...a bit also.
It bugs the nit-picky bastard in me that Marle is doing a fire-based double-attack with Crono, when Lucca was Fire and Marle was Ice.
I used to think this, but on my recent playthru of Chrono trigger I used Crono, Marle and Frog for my party.
their triple tech has frog "fall down" while crono jumps off of him, while Marle shoots a red and blue flickering flame. When I noticed frog was sort of kneeling, I figured thats what that was.
(this only has the PoP logo on the Steelbook itself, no other logos. Very very cool light seed design on that.)
Actually, it looks like PAL might have the edge on Steelbooks as well. that PoP one was PAL only and the Gears 2 silver one that doesn't have the logo also doesn't appear to be anywhere other than PAL regions.

This is the point where I'd link Victorious Fighters Revolution for Wii. On the one side its like ugly animoo character art and on the other side its a classy looking cg pair of gloves.

Y'know, I really need to finish that some day. I bought if off the Xbox originals but only got about 30 minutes in before I stopped playing.
Same with Halo for that matter. Hmm.

And it needs to be said that all the Personas have good cover art:
4's might very well be my favorite.
Though I like how 1 and both of 2 have the 'shadow self' theme.

Haha, I've got one of those. I actually use it as a lunchbox whenever I have a class to teach, too.
