I hate iTunes but it's the only real service of its kind in Canada.
I hate iTunes because it assumes I am a criminal and so every song is encoded with DRM which puts a whole bunch of restrictions on it.
But Meiss, they have the ability to remove the DRM! That's true, but you have to "upgrade" them, which actually entails you paying more for songs just to remove some arbitrary bullshit that they put there in the first place.
the one thing I really don't like about iTunes is that it won't let you redownload songs you have already purchased
Damn, that blows. I don't even use iTunes, I get songs from eMusic, which lets you download any song you bought at any time onto any computer you want - but the reason they can do this is because they have NO major labels, so it's all indie stuff.

"hey i lost my files because i had to reboot my computer and i also lost them on my ipod can i have them back since you know that i bought them"
"NO BUY THEM AGAIN"
that's why you backup.
If you said "hey I bought this CD and lost it can I have another" they would laugh at you.
except since giving you back your music digitally costs them nothing at all, there's absolutely no reason why you shouldn't be able to download the music you paid money for as many times as you need to
also itunes is pretty much a giant pile of shit. why can't the people who make the ipods and zunes of the world make software that is actually capable of doing the things you need it to do without crashing or filling your computer with peanut butter

its not like that at all though
it's a digital file that they have a record of me having purchased. they even tell you when you click on a file you've downloaded
"YOUVE BOUGHT THIS BEFORE ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT THIS"
if they're not going to let you redownload things you've paid for already they shouldnt even bother keeping track of what you've purchased

Wait, what? I thought you can redownload them for free?
That is seriously fucked up. Then again, I doubt that's Apple's doing - It's the record companies that dictate this shit.

so I don't feel like killing it sorry
I'm thinking of using this to buy the Protomen album
should I do this?
Will I have to re-purchase my entire songlist?
it stopped recognizing my old ipod
and when it finally does and i start transferring a song it freezes up and becomes unprocess end-able
which i didn't even know was possible

Yeah, let me just jump in my horseless carriage and motor off to the recording spindle shoppe.
So I am down with killing iTunes.
