Hey guys I'd like to talk to you about this GAME.
The best, and most succinct way I can describe Alpha Protocol, is that Mass Effect and Splinter Cell had a mildly retarded baby that is somehow still really good at telling stories.
The gunplay is not amazing, it's kind of buggy, and it's kind of ugly, and yet, I cannot stop playing it. There are a lot of cool things it does with choice, and there are a lot of things you can do in one mission that will affect a bunch of missions down the line.
What I'm saying is, for $60, you probably shouldn't waste your time
but you know somebody at Steam will get wasted and put this up for like 7 bucks and at that point, go for it.
If you already have the game, feel free to excitedly discuss or angrily persecute it here.

played a stealth character, which was a pain in some boss fights. but really fun! hitting silent running, then shadow operative in the later levels, then sweeping through a roomful of baddies is a blast

This is what I did
Pistols, Toughness and Tech Specialist
I ended up having no problem with the gameplay at all. Punching dudes, chain shotting bosses, it was all good

That said, I'm really eager to pick this up sometime for PC, hopefully with months and months of fan improvements patched in. :P

I try to be stealthy because I'm a bitch like that but when shit inevitably goes wrong I whip out my shotgun and go apeshit

Second playthrough I'm a rookie who started out not liking to kill people but now is just murdering the shit out of everyone. The only time I don't kill people is when I martial arts them down.
Third playthrough I plan on being a ghost. No kills period.

In the first area, hit recruit every time you get the option to in dialogue sequences. Do it enough and you'll end up having about 8 AP dumped on you from a perk, which helps a lot
Still that strange balance of fucking annoying and fun but I'm keeping up with it

I can see many problematic issues, but it wasn't that horrible for me. Plenty of good points in there
