Note: Most excellent OP copied from the previous thread, made entirely by METAzrael. Hopefully that's cool.
HESHER
n.

1. See also Butt Rocker.

2. Any form of rock music and / or listener, sporting a mullet, eye makeup, hairspray, tight acid washed jeans and hi-top Reeboks.

Don't ask me - the title comes from the fey will of the mods above.

Welcome to the Grand Battalion Nekrokreuz Sigma Save the Avanc Bakesale: Convocation at Tain Hollow (aka let's talk about cool music and satan and stuff). You may have entered a hesher, but you'll leave on a screaming motorcycle driven by wings of liquid fire. From hell.

Thank you for joining us. At this time, we'll have a field report from top fairies Sirenia:
Over the seven seals of fate
A thousand miles away
Your destiny awaits
Over the seven seals of fate
Your free will lies asleep
Behind the fortune's gates

At the market in town just for two coins a yellow little bird my father bought for me.
But here comes the cat
and eats the bird
that in the market
my father bought for me.

At the market in town
there was a dog
that bit the cat
that eats the bird
my father bought for me.
But here comes the water
and wets the dog
that bites the cat
that eats the bird
that in the market
my father bought for me.

At the market in town
there was a horse
that spilled the water
that wet the dog
that bit the cat
that eat the bird

But here comes the man
that whips the horse
that spills the water
that wets the dog
that bites the cat
that eats the bird
my father bought for me.

At the market in town just for two coins a yellow little bird my father bought for me.
But the angel of death
visits the man
that whipped the horse
that spilled the water
that wet the dog
that bit the cat
that eat the bird
that in the market
my father bought for me.
Thank you for that, Sirenia. You have truly blessed the world with your ethereal creations.

    META, get your ass here.

I recall you raving about Amesoeurs, which I've recently heard a few songs from, namely Les Ruches Malades, La Reine Trayeuse, and Faiblesse Des Sens, and I'm now pretty damn curious. Is the rest of their stuff like this? If not, would you happen to know any bands that are?

Ya know, I briefly considered making the new thread and naming it 666: The Number Of The [Hesher]. So, new Destroyer 666 (That hopefully hasn't gone stale 6 years in the making), new Slayer (Which hopefully isn't so 'meh' this time around), and new Porcupine Tree (That hopefully doesn't keep me delving further into Prog and away from Metal) this year. Color me excited, and hopeful.

I wish In the Constellation of the Black Widow would come out already.

I haven't really been wowed by anything this year yet. There's been some good stuff, just nothing that's really clicked with me, I dunno.

I never exactly raved about Amesoeurs (perhaps you are mistaking me for Fallovt, or are thinking of Lifelover, who you need to check out), but I was excited for their debut. Sadly, I was not exactly impressed by the album. Their ep work is definitely the height of their material, although there are a few standout tracks. Amesoeurs have always had a pretty unique style, more punky and skram-influenced (early on) than most post-black metal bands. As I said, though, go listen to Lifelover - start with Pulver, then do Konkurs, and finish with Erotik if you like their style.

Thanks for starting the thread, Adren - definitely no need to credit me in it, though. Could you add a link to the previous thread at the bottom, too? I'd like to keep up on that so we have all the old discussions handy.

I rather like Sirenia, but I almost never pay attention to lyrics. I'd say I know the lyrics to 10% of the songs I listen to. Most of the time because they simply are indecipherable and I'm too lazy to look them up.

Whoever suggested Novembre, pretty good. Liking them so far. No songs have particularly caught onto me yet, though.

Dragonland wasn't bad either. I feel like one of the few fans of a lot of Power Metal here, but Six Magics is a lot better than they get credit for.

Wait, Ulcerate is mentioned in the OP? A metal band from new zealand that isn't absolutely terrible? Of course they don't come here on their tour, typical.

You talked about Lifelover, my bad. I have in fact checked them before, at least Konkurs. My exposure was fairly brief though, I'll have to remedy that.

Rivers Edge wins as long as you aren't watching the movie. But really I was just jabbering bullshit to mark the new thread.

While the soundtrack isn't as metal as your Rivers Edge I still enjoy the original Mortal Kombat movie, Scorpion vs Johnny Cage with Fear Factory blaring in the background, it is nerdgasm worthy.

Learning to play guitar takes up a lot of time but damn if it isn't fun.

Holy shit, just checked out Blind Guardian's website and Hansi posted saying they had 8+ songs written including a song based on the Wheel of Time books. It's going to be a long year...

Hm, Masachist have a nice lineup of Polish vets, but the first song on their space is not very exciting.

    New Gorod and Glorior Belli.

Ok, the flesh-eating ghost slug is goddamn metal. That name is a killer song title on its own, sheesh.

The Masachist album is pretty dull, was going to review it but just couldn't be bothered. Nothing to say. For the most part the members' other bands are all considerably better.

repulsion is an incredibly sweet band, but they played at MDF years ago. and brutal truth and pig destroyer are both playing there this year too.

anyway its just nice to see good shows around in the US you know. its gonna be hard to top this years MDF lineup without getting into some arena headliner kind of territory.

It's more the fact that it's all three of the bands, in the same place, with the entirety of 'Horrified' being played from start to finish (not that Repulsion have a lot of options material wise of course). I'm just bitter because I was supposed to be going to MDF this year.

So Skyforger is up in its entirety on the Amorphis MySpace. Most people who care about this probably already know, however.

Yeah, I was just about to post this. I haven't had time yet to listen through it though.

Wish I could head to MDF, lot of great bands there, I've seen all before except Hail of Bullets but still...Pestilence, Hail of Bullets, Bolt Thrower...at once...

A lot more black metal in there than usual. Could MDF be morphing into an all purpose metal fest?

Someone come to ohio, kidnap me, and take me to Maryland.

At least I get to watch Opeth and Enslaved on Saturday.

For some odd reason I thought I had missed this. Apparently not. Now to decide if I want to go or not.
