I've got quite a bit of money saved from my job and my student loan is about to come through in a couple of weeks. Since i spend a lot of my work/free time at the computer i want to invest in an awesome chair.
Think the chair that Joey get's in friends when Chandler breaks the barker lounger.
I want it to be:
incredibly comfortable
have speakers built in
somewhere have a miniature fridge built in (this is a must)
preferably have some sort of massaging system included into the back of the chair
Any other media devices would be welcomed. I have no idea where to buy one of these things, or if they even sell them, but it'd be great if they do, and it'd be even better if you guys new some details on it.
thanks in advance

I gotta say, if you're living on student loans, which you're going to have to pay back later in life, buying some fancy chair with that money is poor financial planning.
I think you might be better off just getting a really nice regular chair. I'm a little dubious that all the gadgets built into a chair like speakers would last all that well.

Seriously. Invest in the quality, comfort and durability of the chair. Forget all those gimmicks. Unless the chair costs some ludicrous bucks, all those gadgets will be crap.
If you have the cash and spend more than half the day in front of a computer screen, invest in a Herman Miller chair (pref. Aeron Chair).
Most comfortable chair I have ever sat in and your back will thank you for it.

Yeah, just get a really comfortable chair. I don't think you are going to find a chair that has all those other things be very good. I can't imagine you would find great speakers in it when you could probably get pretty good speakers for not too much.

I had no idea those chairs were so expensive, we have a bunch of those in our office and we break them all the time.
I agree with the getting a good chair arguments...
I'm not sure your original idea of getting what essentially would have to be a recliner/Lazyboy would be great for your ergonomics when used with a computer desk.

I'm sitting in one of these right now. It is indeed excessively comfortable.

These are nice, but two things. 1. The mesh on the back will tear up suit jackets a bit. Don't know if that matters to you or not. 2. They are incredibly annoying and fiddly if you need to adjust anything, precisely because they are so adjustable.
Also, don't be a dumb ass. You don't have money, you have negative money, do some better financial planning and buy cheap things. :P

I'm really liking the idea of some of these over the top comfy chairs. But still, it's always been a fantasy of mine to own a chair that has a fridge built in. Regardless of cost/practicality/how cool i am. Does a chair like that exist?

Buy an Aeron chair and glue a tiny fridge underneath it?
EDIT: All I did was google it and got this. I kind of doubt most people around here have sat in enough fridge chairs such that they could attest to the best one.
I've got an Aeron at the office and ordered one of those Freedom chairs for home, it's pretty comfortable and doesn't have the mesh, I will say though, don't go budget with it. I ordered from the cheapest place I could get it from and had to wrestle with it when I got it because it wasn't assembled right.
Supposedly these chairs are pretty nice. They are custom made and contain speakers giving you personal surround sound in your chair. I'm sure since they are custom made you could probably call them up and figure out a way to get a mini-fridge in there too. Though they are pretty pricey from the looks of it. Looks like a Recliner runs about 6k.

also if anyone knows exactly where to purchase one of these:

that would again be fantastic

You want the....
H.R. Giger Harkonnen Chair!

I suggest you read that blog post. It details Jeff Atwood's search for the best programming chair.
tl;dr He chose the Herman Miller Mirra instead of the Aeron.
Edit: http://www.sit4less.com/ has these chairs for way less than amazon.

is like the perfect chair, but ain't so hot when combined with desk usage. Anyone know of something a little more compact?
La-z-boys aren't meant for desks though.
They're meant for kicking back and watching football. On a Sunday.
AKA: I don't think they make smaller La-z-boys (or recliners) for desk usage.
