So, this guy has a whoooole fucking slew of old martial arts flicks on his youtube! THE ENTIRE MOVIES! Including one of my personal favorites, THE STREET FIGHTER, with Sonny Chiba!
There he is holding a man's genitals!
What's your favorite old kung fu movie, SE? I like Enter the Dragon and the aforementioned Street Fighter movies.
edit: now that I examine this guy's youtube, he also has the three stooges, gunsmoke, the beverly hillbillies, dragnet, and a shitload of old horror movies!
How the fuck did I miss this thread when it was created like 2 hours ago
I think Enter the Dragon or maybe the first Drunken Master are my favorites, though I'm waiting on seeing Master of the Flying Guillotine and 36th Chamber of Shaolin before I make my verdict
I'm asking for help in remembering a martial arts movie I saw a while back. It was delightfully cheesy, but the thing that stood out the most was that the bad guy (?) had a weapon that was basically a guillotine on a chain that he whipped around (?) and somehow beheaded people with it. Any ideas?
Also, it's not old, but The Protector is mandatory.

shogun assassin is gloriously cheesy
it's also sampled on Liquid Swords, which is awesome
on a related note, this should also be an honorary Wu Tang thread
Seriously guys it is like the best kung fu flick ever.
All I can do is offer you the next best thing, which is Shaolin Drunkard, which IS on DVD (out of print, I have a copy), and is also on Youtube in its entirety. It has a bunch of the same cast*, in more or less identical roles, and the absurdity and awesomeness is intact.
*The same Chinese cast, that is. The dub changes a few voices.
Keep in mind the dude who directed these went on to choreograph shit like The Matrix; Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon; Kung-Fu Hustle, and so many more.
if only for the impromptu riffing you can do with that movie
isn't kareem abdul jabbar in that one?
that's game of death
easy mistake, i guess
so then is chinese connection the one where some fat disheveled sweaty guy with glasses gets skewered with a sword? because i definitely remember that being a thing

That would be Master of the Flying Guillotine, actually

So I have expanded my repertoire of old martial arts films since moving to Seoul, because there is a channel that seems to revel in showing nothing but old martial arts films - mostly Chinese, as far as I can tell, certainly none of the older ones have been in Korean - interspersed with the occasional long-lost American western.
The downside is that the titles are the Korean titles for Chinese movies, so I'm left with absolute no idea what I'm watching unless I write it down in Korean and ask someone else later. At least once they've shown Project A, because I found it through descriptions of the scenes.
They've never shown this, to my knowledge, more's the pity:

edit: i still have not played that game.
An hour of overly cheesy horribly dubbed cheap Kung Fu.
Like, reallly cheap.
Good times.
Of course every time I pick out an awesome horror film it's rented
Jackie Chan Adventures
I think
All that's on youtube is the clip of Old Devil fighting the Watermelon Monster.
Said clip.
It doesn't have any of the truly ridiculous stuff there. Nor does it have the truly awesome fight scenee.

I refuse to believe a movie can have a scene more ridiculous/awesome than that can not cause the TV to explode.

bruce lee is pissed at some japanese cats who are rivaling his school
his natural course of action is to of course provoke them and get most of his school beaten up
but they're totally okay with what happened so long as he leave the fucking country
that's game of death

quite possibly the fastest kick one could take to the face
fists of fury is a good one too.
That would be Master of the Flying Guillotine, actually
Because I get to post youtube clips of Jackie Chan fight scenes
Shanghai Knights had amazing choreography!
Dragons Forever has the most incredible end fight!
Hell yes it does!
OH WAIT DRUNKEN MASTER 2 OUT OF NOWHERE!
