Welcome to the PA Forums. We like to keep all related posts in one thread, the MW2 thread in this case. Also, we don't encourage spamming other forums 'round these parts, not our thing. Third:
This is like 9/11 times a thousand, which is 911,000.
I prefer Xbox Live style matchmaking+Friends system over servers lists. By a lot. This is good to me, which doesn't make it objectively better, but it's definitely not some kind of travesty.

If you like that, that's cool, but that's what consoles are for. I mean, they could even make it an OPTION on the PC version. Instead it's their matchmaking crud or the road, a big middle finger salute to PC gamers everywhere.
When you play on PC, you expect to be able to play on servers you like, which you know have consistently good latency and effective admins who can banhammer hackers and teamkillers etc. It doesn't matter if someone quits the game, because the game is hosted independently. Dedicated servers build up a community, so you're not just playing against random jerks all the time, you're often up against people you've played many times before. And before you mention friends lists, screw that. Friends lists are for FRIENDS, not for random people I might like to play against once or twice.
Well they did it for L4D and it is a loss of freedom not a gain.
Yeah and that is only a 4-8 player game with limited options, so it isn't too hard to find people you get along with to play. It will be fucking hard to find 31 people that aren't douchebags and like the same style of gameplay I do.
The PC version of CoD4 was a cesspool of 32 player servers running maps meant for twelve players and using accelerated leveling.
This makes me happy.
Only 32? Weak. I remember playing on 50 and even 60 player servers. Now that was insanity. I don't recall there being accelerated leveling for Modern Warfare, though. That was in World at War.

Maybe it was exclusive to that. They were both pretty crap either way. The games weren't designed for that many players.
PC fps games usually have the luxury of dedicated servers. It should be in the "by-laws" of pc game publishing. They're pulling some cowboy bullshit with this move however, and I simply won't buy it if the game does not have dedicated servers.
This move has more impact on me than 9/11 did, so in my perspective this could be up to and including 1000 times worse.

fuck you with bullshit like that
Really dude? Really?
You compared not having an option to host multiplayer games on a dedicated machine to the death of real people and even state that its more tragic.
You fail at being a human being
Not exactly the outrage I was going for.
FYI: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0372588/quotes - fourth from the top.
Old PA forum lookalike style for the new forums | My ko-fi donation thing.
Seriously, dude. Thousands of people murdered =/= changes to a video game
You make a valid point. I believe the the only effective response is D-Day times 23 but with a sprinkling of icing sugar.

You win.
I really don't see why we have the outrage yet. I would wait and see how it works before being outraged.
wait a minute
This makes me happy.
Actually it won't be because I won't even try.

A console.

This guy hates freedom!
Maybe it was just cause they played it last night on comedy central, but seriously folks. He wasn't making a comparison.
Politically Correct?
Especially you.
The movie. By the guys who made South Park.
He was trying to be funny using references.
It clearly failed.
This guy. This guy gets it.
Reply to the OP: That article you linked doesn't seem very coherent or reliable.
Can we get on topic?
No, because this is a dead thread walking. There's already a MW2 thread where they've already been talking about it.
*Waits for a mod.*
