I imagine real life dwarfs have a short fuse about not being included
For some reason I'd imagine if I was a height lacking individual I would relate more to halflings than dwarves...maybe because halflings seem like they have more variation.
The only thing I wouldn't be happy about is the obligatory hairy feet.
Of course halflings arent option, but just saying 8-)
The console controls look almost identical to the Mass Effect controls, right down to a radial menu setup. If you liked the Mass Effect controls, you'll probably be fine with these.
Let's pretend I haven't played Mass Effect. God, I just called down the mob on myself, didn't I?
So basically, controls will be decent but not quite as good. Hmmm. Choices.
I'd really like to hear reports about how the games control on PS3 and XBox. I'd like to get it for my PS3 if I could, but if the console controls suck I guess I could get it for PC.
If you have the option DO NOT get this for the console. Just don't. The interface system that you get on the PC is so far and away different from the console version, that it feels like I am playing a different (better) game. If you must get the console version - no sweat the content is the same (and it probably loads faster), but the graphical upgrade (AA is a MUST) and the too slick for words interface will make the PC version so much easier and enjoyable. Being able to pause the game and issue MULTIPLE orders at once on the PC will help you immensely (and I'm curious why this wasn't on the console, as its what Mass Effect was able to do).
Plus you can take wicked screenshots of Alistair decapitating someone!

For a console, the controls will be fine, but if you compare them to the PC version that has about 125 more possible input toggles (because of the keyboard), it's a totally different control experience.
Anyone having issues unlocking the game with steam?
It would rush straight to 100% unlock for me within a second, but not actually do anything until I restarted the client.

OK so unlike everyone else the decryption zipped through really fast on mine but it won't run. So naturally i restart steam only thing is steam won't work too .
Ugh. Why do you have to use the horrible Social Site to redeem your codes? The way that thing works, there's a 90% chance it will time out after I submit the code, the code will be used up, but the item won't unlock.

Curse you Social Site! CURSE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!
seriously the social site sucks..
Just let me put the code in ingame I don't want none of this Dragon Age: Facebook crap.
Is there a decent PC vs Console consensus? My gaming machine is a two years old but looks like it could easily handle the specs. I played Mass Effect on the 360 and didn't regret it but I played Fallout on the 360 and did regret it because of lack of mods. Any thoughts?
I don't know why anyone would preorder it. I walked over to best buy at 10:15 and picked up the collector's edition. We also chatted up one of the people at Gamestop and got the preorder bonus.
also on the steam version i have the pre-order key but why do I have 2 game CD keys ??
Because you were meant to give one to me so I can get my woman playing this. Obviously.
Is there a decent PC vs Console consensus?
If you have a choice. PC. That is what every reviewer and those who have played both have said. It's not just a graphical difference. The interface (even the layout of the codex) is INFINITELY better. On the console I had to scroll all around the codex to find new entries - on the PC it is all laid bare in nice glowy numbered notes so I know not only what I haven't read, but how many of each Codex entry I'm meant to find.

Get it on the PC or forever regret it when the rest of us are talking about the totally awesome user-made content.

There's been one on pretty much every page.
Basically, get the PC version if it will run it.

Most people are saying PC, because of the controls and the fact that it plays more like BG2, and less like Mass Effect, while the console versions control scheme and camera create an opposite effect (more like Mass Effect, less like BG2).
Popped out to the local Gamestop during my lunch break to pick up a copy, got the manual in my jacket pocket and the game on the floorboards of my car. Only 4 more hours to go... stupid working-for-a-living!

Which, I might add, is a breath of fresh air after ME, JE and KoToR, who's optimal playing experience was definitely on the console.
EA unlocked the game way early for europeans. Playing this shit right now. None of the DLC stuff yet though, nor exclusives from the Deluxe, but what fucking ever. This will fuck me up good. No sleep tonight.

That Dwarf at 5:00 is epically creepy

At least the feet would be warm for those middle of the night cuddles... :winky:

You and me both.
I'm going to be biting my fingers off at the knuckles on the metro ride home.
Also, for the additional content, even if it's Steam or Store bought, you have to use the Social Site?

By all accounts, the console versions are fine, but the optimal DA experience is on the PC.
