"Not even going to glance at the rest. The fact that Armin van Buuren isn't even on this list still makes the whole game a sham"
Really, I realize that Tiesto was on the last game, but trance music does not fit well into the mixing style that they are trying to emphasize with most of the mash ups in the game. I guess I'm not aware of any big singles that Armin has made, other then a lot and lot of mixes that all sound the same.

Eh, Rock Band folks have been putting up with that crap for a long time.
"A Jimi Hendrix pack? It's not Metallica or Muse. FAIL."
Complaining about what's in this game makes no goddamn sense. There's some Motorhead and Foreigner and Foo Fighters in the first one, seriously, leave it up to the people making the mixes to decide what's good.

Yeah
When I quoted that list, I only left in the acts I'm interested in
And that's a substantial number!
But in the original DJ Hero, they were making cool-sounding mixes from people I don't like.
For example, the Killers are less-than-alright in my opinion, and "Somebody Told Me" is one of the most annoying songs I know of
But mixing it with Rihanna's "Disturbia" proved to kick ass.
Did they ever say if you can hook up two turntables to ONE crossfader unit? Because even if you have two turn tables and a microphone, it's not good if each turntable has it's own crossfader.
can you do doubles in dj hero 1? if tru sale for $40 next week, I also saw some store had the extra turntable for $20.
Whta can I do if I have two turntables?
Also, will dj hero 2 be using the same stuff from dj hero 1? I don't want to buy the crap if i need to buy new crap for dj hero 2
As far as I know from the first one two players played the exact same things during the song. It should use the turntable you already have. If not this game is going to bomb like the first one.
Why wouldn't you be able to use the original? There has yet to be any precedent in the post-Guitar Hero days for a music game not letting you use a previous controller.
So I'm thinking about trading in a bunch of 360 games that I played prior to swapping my 360 for a newer model (because I forgot to save my saved games and don't want to play through half of stuff like Prince of Persia again!). It's b2g1 at Gamestop this weekend and they have DJ Hero for $50 used so I could get that and 2 other games. Good deal for that price? Is the turntable solid enough that you wouldn't be concerned with a used one?
Yet again, Activision produced way, waaaaaay too many plastic peripherals than there was actual demand.

Yeah, my local Fry's was selling a 2 Turntable + game pack for $70 I think. I was quite literally both products just taped together. And I could be wrong on the price. It might not have been that high.

The turntable is absolutely solid
In fact, I'd go so far as to say it's easily the most solid music game peripheral I've ever used

Bought it yesterday - really really enjoying it. Picked it up along with Batman AA and L4D2 (I'm behind on games) and have played it pretty much nonstop since I put batteries in it. Really good soundtrack - I'll probably preorder DJ Hero 2 soon.

I picked up the game a few days ago and pre-ordered DJ Hero 2 at the same time, figuring that if I didn't like it all that much (which I highly doubted) I could just pick it up and throw it on Goozex or something similar.
Damn I love this game. The controller feels natural and the soundtrack is awesome, the Fedde Le Grand/Sandy Rivera track got my girlfriend to poke her head into the loungeroom with a 'Wow, that's a good track!'. Her one complaint is that it doesn't seem to be as interesting to watch from a bystander's point of view - she could sit and watch me play RB or GHWT all night, but after a track or two of DJH she got up and started doing other things.
But yes - solid as hell. If you have any remote interest in remixes, turntablism or dance music in general, do yourself a solid and go pick this up.

I'll add to the glowing reviews. And I'm not really interested in this kind of music, but the mixes are excellent, the turntable is a solid piece of work, the game mechanics make sense... the crossfader is a little finicky and the first time I saw a scratch continue during a crossfade I straight up panicked, but good game, good, good game.
I have to say as much as I prefer the Rock Band series the Hero games really do a MUCH better job being kid friendly too. Rock Band just throws in no fail and calls is good - but the Beginner modes on Hero really are perfect for a 5 year old that really wants to play. DJ Hero's beginner mode just makes you press any button on time and occasionally scratch - my son loves it - and because even if you miss the track continues soon it still sounds like he's doing well even when he's off.
Dont know if anyone mentioned it, but the RENEGADE EDITION (metal turntable parts, turntable stand, CD of Eminem and JayZ tunes) is now $67 on Amazon.
Down from like a jabillion or however much it was at release.
Is there something I'm missing on the website? When I go to it the price is stated as being $179. DJ Hero Renegade Edition for Xbox360. I've been waiting for it to go on sale, and that is the perfect price. Is there a code or something I need to enter at checkout?

Huh, I would've bought that had I not grabbed it from Best Buy a few months ago at $40 (Standard Edition)

No but I like the included stand.
And the Jay-Z/Linkin Park Mashup album is pretty cool. Makes two artists I don't really care for into something awesome as a whole.
The Gray Album is okay, but like the above, I've never heard either album separate so I can't tell what part is The Beetles and what is Jay-Z outside of obvious vocals.
