Anyway, long story short, going from an older OSX 10.4 iMac to an OSX 10.5 iMac, and I need to copy my files over. I've had an iMac for a couple of years, but I've never tried networking two of them together. I've tried following all the guides on Apple.com and like, but I can't figure out how to share files from my old iMac to my new one. It shows how desperate I am at this point to humble myself here, help!

One method to share files is to go into System Preferences -> Sharing -> File sharing and activate it. You should now be able to access this computer from your network.

It wall say something like : Other users can access shared folders on this computer, and administrators all volumes, at afp://xxx-pc.home/ or “Mac Pro Workstation”.
On the new machine, go to finder
In finder press command-k and a window should pop open.
Put the name from above i.e. afp://xxx-pc.home
Hit enter
When it prompts for password type the user name and password from the old computer.
