I am stuck in a hotel room with no TV and just my netbook for the next three months, and with no internet. I can walk around and get wireless internet but torrents will not download so I can't even pirate entertainment. Is there any way to pay for something like netflix but be able to download the episodes? I need something to do besides play majong titans and read a few books.
Exactly I want something to do in my room, I should have been more specific. There is nothing to do during the weekday and I usually just sleep 10-12 hours because of this. I am in Kunsan on a military base and I will be in a shit hotel on base for about three months.

Can't you get stuff shipped there? Seasons of shows on DVD, pc games that'll run on your netbook?
I shipped all my stuff but they won't let me have it until I have a room, they won't let me even open the box to get a jacket out of it. I could probably get some sort of adapter for my netbook so it can read DVDs but I don't want to spend a whole lot of money since I am living out of pocket for now. I am actually out quite a bit of money until the military decides to pay me back.
The problem is that I can't get the internet for a lot of the day, its a bit of a walk anywhere here and it is very cold now too so I can't walk around looking for random signals outside.
If you find a wifi spot with your netbook, I'd suggest d/ling Steam. I'd suggest going old school and get some of the old school Lucasarts games upto and including KotOR.

Oh also freeware games that can run on a netbook.
There are these. I'm sure there are still plenty of places in Kunsan that sell "sub-standard" DVDs for like, $1USD each.
I vote the free, lightweight games route. There are a surprising amount of games available for free - quality games, all legal too. Off the top of my head of know of GTA 1 and 2, Arena and Daggerfall. Shit those four, or even the two latest in each series (GTA2 and Daggerfall) will occupy a large amount of time. Probably need to use DosBox but it shouldn't be a problem.
Oh, Mech Commander 1 and 2 are available for free as well.
Your in Korea man! I lived there for 4 months and it was the best time of my life. Is Kunsan as rural as I would think? I lived in Daegu and traveled to Busan and Seoul. I suggest enrolling in some language course on weeknights(2 or 3 a week whatever). You can learn to read in 2 hours, and start to be able to get basic conversation in a few weeks time. Then just hit the bars!
In my experience I ran into a lot of people that wanted to hang out with me just for the fact that I was american. Most of them just wanted to practice\learn english from me, and sometimes it was frustrating but I did meet a lot of really cool people. Knowing a little Korean can help break the Ice, just keep trying when they laugh at you. Imagine how funny Indian people sound when speaking english, thats what we sound like speaking korean. I had a few experiences where I had nothing to do, would start walking downtown and end up eating sam gyip sol and drinking soju with random people having a blast.

If you are fiending for some video game entertainment, there is a PC Bang on every corner. I played mostly DotA(WC3) when bored. And if you are fiending for a movie go to a DvD Bang(with a girl, =D). I am jealous man, I want to go back so bad.
I am in the military and there is a lot of places we are not allowed to go off base, and it is somewhat difficult to travel around too. I might look into learning Korean but I know my job will keep me busy and anything with a schedule is likely to be rigorously violated by my job.
See if you there are shooting ranges on base, pick up a martial art, attempt to learn the local language, install a punching bag and some ropes and get a book on at-home fitness and go at it, learn an instrument, keep a journal ...
Your three months is going to be what you make of it, man. You can sit and watch movies on a laptop almost anywhere. There isn't anything inherently wrong with that, but I get the impression that you could be a little more proactive and creative in trying to un-bored yourself.
But, I don't know. Maybe your job is super draining and staying in your hotel is nice for you.
I dont mean to sound so depressed but this whole situation got me...home sick maybe. My whole life is completely different from what is was a couple weeks ago, I never have any alone time, no games, very little internet, almost everything is different.
I went out and made some friends and did some stuff today, things are already quite a bit better. Thanks for all the advice, I just need to utilize this base and area better I think. I mean I was in Louisiana for three years and never made it to New Orleans or Dallas. I just don't get out too much, I have trouble making new friends and going out and doing things, just a lot of anxiety and all that and I enjoy staying in and alone a lot sometimes. But I know I need to change that.

He wants to download them onto his computer so he can watch. I don't think Hulu lets you do that.

Read a book. People have been writing them for centuries. There are a lot of them.
