The Bear dance is so Exuberant

in contrast Cat dance is too cool for School

When we pipe music through vent while running Kara, nothing is cooler than watching a dancing druid in cat form, just swinging his paw around like some kind of badass. I can watch it for hours.

what you need to do is hold down A or D while bear dancing

    we have dubbed it

Too bad they fixed sleeping in bird form freezing you in place because that was fun. Also using /mountspecial in anything besides bird form is awesome.

My 7 year old asks all the time if we are fighting that nice robot (curator) or if we are getting loots. She also loves to watch the chess event in action. I usually stand off to the side and zoom out so she can see the whole board going at once.

    Thats really cool :^:

I love that she thinks the Curator is nice, I guess he does have good manners.

Our guild took him down for the first time last week. His voice is hilariously awesome. Definitely not something you expect from a 75 foot tall robot thing.

Silly Slaide, we took him down the second week into Kara, we've just been lazy since then. Raid nights are Friday, right? ;)

Yea he is a proper sounding robot at least.

What else makes me happy this week:

    Got:
    Ring of Unyielding Force
    Kara exalted tank ring
Arena shoulders to replace assassin shoulders for tanking
    Badge of Tenacity
Earthwarden (already posted this I think)

And once the Thoriumweave Cloak drops, I have enough def/res to put it on and remain uncrittable.
Once that and the adamantium figurine drops, I can start worrying about replacing my clefthoof chest and legs.

Getting my Cobalt War Talbuk last night made me happy. I never want to see another ogre again.

The best part about grinding in that area though, is seeing all the people try to do Ring of Blood solo. Brokentoe appears and they get smashed in the face as the attempt to run away. Good times.

Running a guildie for his key fragment in Shadow Lab last night with a group makeup of:

    Prot Paladin (me)

    2 Warlocks

We just gave up marking targets at one point and the warlocks started using seed while I aoe tanked pulls.

    I love clearing.

According to WowWiki, a full clear of Steamvaults nets approximately 1600 CE rep. Every SV run I'd been in up till then skipped most of the mobs in the first room (elemental patrols, extra giants, whatnot). Last night we decided to kill every living thing in the place.

You know what? IT WAS EASIER THAN SKIPPING MOBS. The patrols are no big deal, the elementals are pantywaists, and because I was with some extremely giving guildies, I got a total of 18 coilfang armaments.

When rep and loot are at stake, I just don't see what the harm is in clearing an instance. It was like clockwork. It was textbook. It was too easy not to do.

I can almost taste the bloody spikes on my Earthwarden.

Going out of your way(like that bog lord way to the left at the very beginning) to clear every mob is easier than cutting a straight path through to the bosses? Taking risks like hugging walls and whatnot to skip mobs might not be a great idea, but going out of your way to kill trash mobs, when that time could be spent on a second run instead to get more 120 rep boss kills doesn't seem like a good idea.

I like clearing and hate skipping everything, oh what? the priest pulled a pat we skipped running back? whoops, now we have to wait longer. DPS just got feared into the group we skipped?

Skipping mobs is the main reason i don't like any of the coilfang instances, with the fears, mind controls, etc, it isn't unlikely to be 3 manning the last of the pull chain fearing/trapping/sheeping because your healer is dead.

If you're stupid enough to fall for it, you deserve to be laughed at. I can understand that the average person who plays Blizzard games (read: Battle.net kiddies) are probably not going to understand basic Windows shortcuts. But I firmly believe that if you're too ignorant to understand what makes you automatically go AFK and that any action taken will clear your AFK status (unless you disable something in Interface Options), then you deserve to be ridiculed. This is especially true for anything that is covered in the game's manual.

    IMHO, of course.

They are doing it because they want to make room in the BG for their friends. Or at least that is what one person in WSG was doing, he kept trying to get a level 12 to /afk so that his friend could join the BG.

Actually in this case it seems like the person is just being a jackass.

I don't get it... what made the guy quit the BG? I don't do any BGs any more, does going AFK instantly kick you? And if so, did the guy do /afk to try to clear it? If I want to clear AFK I just hit space or something.

Typing in /afk will remove you from the BG. And you are right, moving will clear the afk sign.

I geuss using /afk to leave a horrid WSG, that will probably take 3 hours, isn't a well known thing.

    Video games are serious business...what?

Scamming people out of money IRL isn't even close to getting some idiot to /afk. People who fall for that /afk shit are probably the same people who open email attachments from strangers, and they don't get any pity from me either.

That said, there are some instances where I would laugh about someone getting scammed IRL, most notably those who fall for Nigerian 419 scams. I think you need some serious disconnect from reality to buy into that shit.

    Exactly!
Except scam artists don't prey on the stupid, they prey on the TRUSTING.
And also they usually spin a tale of bullshit that even intelligent people can't immediately sniff out.
And also they are simply not allowed to join a BG for the next 15 minutes rather than gipped out of their life savings.

But other than that, yeah precisely.

Quote where I said they deserve it.

I don't care what it is, if someone does something stupid in a game it's perfectly acceptable to laugh at it. A person not knowing that /afk will instantly kick you out of a battleground (and gets kicked doing so) is just as funny as someone who didn't pay attention to the price of an item he put up for auction and left a 0 off of the end (2000g item for 200g? lolkthx!).

Would it suck if that shit happens to you? Sure. But when it's something that that is a result of a player fuckup, there is no harm in laughing at it.

My raid deciding, pretty much wholesale and in stream-of-conscious fashion, that we would go kill Magtheridon tonight, after SSC, rather than wait until thursday.

The raid leader was all, "well, okay, let's have everyone hearth and head over," but half the raid was already out and flying to HFP.

Had a few new people on the raid, and still killed him easily enough.

Also, premades are easy to get into AV, the trick is making sure they're big enough to get the battleground server to open a new one as a result of all of you queuing at once.

I've had far better luck getting a high percentage of a 30 man raid into the same AV than getting 8/10 or 13/15 into one.

In the next major content patch, the combat rating, resilience, will also reduce the damage dealt by damage over time (DoT) effects. As it currently stands, each new tier of equipment adds to the amount of damage DoT abilities have, yet that damage is not mitigated through combat ratings found on typical equipment. This change will help ensure that DoT effects do not scale too well compared to other damage mechanics.

The amount of damage reduced will be equal to the critical chance reduction effect that resilience grants.
