Once my English prof asked if anyone knew what the word novel meant.
I said new 3 or 4 times and she seemed like she honestly didn't understand what I was saying. Then a lightbulb flashed. Oh. You mean Noo. Well that's correct, yes.
I thought he just meant "I said "new" but this obviously wasn't the word teach was looking for"
Or maybe teacher was having a blond moment

He was trying to say New and he pronounced it neeoo. Since his professors PhD wasn't in "sounding like a douche" it took a while to understand.
