it is interesting to me that one arm bends as a noodle would, and the other has a proper elbow.
it doesn't look bad or anything, and i think the image and writing are both fantastic, i am loving this so far.
so much.
Mike is one of those illustrators that seems to prefer curves to hard angles, but he's pretty good about knowing when to use which. I didn't even notice it in this one, probably because it's a non-human character or something. I don't know. Going back to the art to look it over again has suddenly made me crave sushi. I don't think there are even any sushi places open right now.

I don't comment on the comics much, but I gotta say: I'm impressed.
It's all the awesome sentence structure and flow that Tycho tosses into his posts condensed. If this wasn't a nerdy tongue-in-cheek version of the kid's classic, Dr. Seuss would feel pretty fucking threatened right now.
Illithids (Mind Flayers) are horrors from the Far Plane in Dungeons and Dragons. Basically marauding Cthulhu like horrors that have a taste for the brains of sentient creatures.
In an earlier edition, before the Far Plane was a thing, mind flayers were space-traveling creatures from the future -- essentially, futuristic science fiction aliens invading a medieval fantasy world.

He's thieving the deep prawns!
nope I caught it too. it's the "no nothing could dull it" part. if he took out the no it would fit more
And leaving each Drow as sad as a drider
The bonefruits he ate and the darkwine he lapped
Need some stuff designed or printed? I can help with that.
It appears as though there was a decision made to concede meter so that the line would fill out the image. I'm not really sure how I feel about it.
I don't see the break in the meter
It seems to flow real nice
If he took out the "no" there'd be a pause and you'd have to linger on the word "keen"

I'd say that this is probably a bit too crazy a word for the children's book style thing they're going for here
But I think Jerry would compromise to use a word like that

Which, by the way, I'm so pleased to see in this. Good word.
Yeah I don't see a break there at all, it flows perfectly.
12, 12, 12, 12
10, 11, 10, 11
Perhaps you're right. Breaking the line up with the dash and the comma may have made me misread it initially.
In any case, I do like where it's going!
those lines go
u ¯ u u ¯ u u ¯ u u ¯ u / u ¯ u u ¯ u u ¯ u u ¯ u
so it scans fine
poetrychat yall. post the most elegiac spondees u got.
these guys should make a kid's book
I can suggest a therapist if you really need to sort out your feelings on the issue.
I'd be less concerned with number of syllables than placement of stresses, but those seem fine too.
I really like it, but I don't know the creature.

I think noodle arm is supposed to give the impression it's in motion, or something.
