I got this Toshiba Satellite for christmas, and I'm just using it for shcool and such, but I figured since TF2 is pretty small and easy on the processing power I'd install it. Installed fine, and the auto-detect feature set most of the graphics settings on the highest level, but when I got into a game it runs like SHIT. Everythings all washed out and the frame rate is terrible, what's the deal? I'm running Windows 7 and all the specs I know how to find are:

Pentium(R) Dual Core CPU T4300 @ 2.10 GHz

4.0 gig RAM

Do you like my photos? The stupid things I say? The way I am alive? You can contribute to that staying the same through the following link

You should probably let us know what the graphics card is as well.

    Also, never trust Auto-Detect settings.

I can run Warcraft on my Satellite. It's a little slow, but pretty good for a laptop.

TF2 is not easy on the processing power at all, though your computer would probably run it fine if you lowered the settings. If your card is an Intel or some ATI or NVIDIA integrated card then for sure you ought to put it on the lowest settings and maybe scale a few things up a bit.

Yes I'm having a lot of trouble finding what video card this thing has, even after clicking on "View name of video card", which you might reasonably assume would show you the name of the video card, so I'm going to assume its integrated. Kind of a bummer but probably best for productivity, thanks for the help!

    If you:

right-click on the desktop, then click the "Screen Resolution" button

click Advanced settings on the Screen Resolution page

the first tab is called "Adapter," should already be open, and it'll tell you what series your card is

Even my MacBook Pro only ran games in a sort of impressive fashion when I first installed Windows on it. Here are the things I've figured out:
If you have a 64 bit CPU, Win7 64 bit runs games way fucking faster than XP 32 bit does.
Manufacturer supplied drivers always suck, even when they don't. I downloaded a modded INF file and the latest drivers and things instantly became much, much better. www.laptopvideo2go.com hooked me up.

Hey thanks MrDelish! I have a Mobile Intel(R) Series Express Family Chipset, apparantly. That laptopvideo2go.com looks really good too, I am going to poke around that site directly.
