Just a little quickie topic: 2010 approaches, and the number of high profile games in the first few months alone are absolutely ridiculous. What are some of the titles you're looking forward to?
Man on Fire: The Game?
Endless Etheria the 13th?
Endless Etheria vs Mortal Kombat 13?
Super Combat Frogs Turbo 1080p Post Processor Edition HD?
Lara Croft: The Last Surgery?
Mild Drizzle?
Alan Insomnia?
List your must-have titles and why. Alternatively, list the titles you're keeping an eye on, and any surprise announcements you hope to see in what will no doubt be a landmark year for gaming.
Happy New Year.
2010 is the year of my long-awaited new blockbuster project.
I'm putting my heart and soul into this production. I'm taking a full swing and making this the best project.
Oh, by the way, We are also working on a project for iPhone.
This should be released soon as well.
We will put our efforts together and do our best!
I'm sure you'll Love it.
January to March is definitely filled with ridiculous amounts of eye-catching games. I'm obviously not going to buy all of them, but here's my list of games that interest me:
Mass Effect 2
Final Fantasy XIII
Dark Void
Yakuza 3
Heavy Rain
Elemental: War of Magic
Darksiders
Just Cause 2
Dead Rising 2
Resonance of Fate
White Knight Chronicles
Aliens vs. Predator
Battlefield: Bad Company 2
Divinity 2
Bioshock 2
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Conviction
Lost Planet 2
Two Worlds 2 (I did like the first one, what can I say, although it wouldn't go on any GotY lists; I'd probably pick it up when it hit 10 dollars like the last game did fairly quickly)
Napoleon: Total War (This one is up in the air, what with already owning Empire)
Last Rebellion
Supreme Commander 2
Metro 2033
S.T.A.L.K.E.R Call of Pripyat
Gran Turismo 5
God of War 3
3D Dot Game Heroes
I already have a few pre-ordered, but it's been hard to decide just what to spend money on. Mass Effect 2 and Final Fantasy XIII are a given, and I've used a gift card to pre-order Bad Company 2 for PC and Yakuza 3. I definitely want to get Elemental in February. Heavy Rain, Resonance of Fate, Just Cause 2, and Aliens vs. Predator are also on the top of my lists but I won't have enough cash for all of them.
I need to win the lottery!

EDIT: Wikipedia doesn't say anything on it. I could have sworn there was some sort of revenue report from capcom saying they weren't expecting it until after the start of the 2011 fiscal year.
I'll probably be crucified for this, but I just can't seem to drum up any interest in Bayonetta. I mean, I loved all the Devil May Cry games and this is made by the same person, yet there's just something about Bayonetta that puts me off.
That would kind suck if true. If it is delayed, that's one less game I have to worry about. The first quarter alone seems worse than the holiday season we just went through. I only put it on my list because I was looking at a recent IGN release page and they had it there for 2010. They have been slow to update those pages, though.

Battlefield Bad Company 2, maybe BF1943 PC.
If Napoleon Total War is different enough to Empire Total War and lives up to CA's promises (it won't), then that.
Mechwarrior 5, Mechwarrior Living Legends, and the Mechwarrior 4 rerelease.
The inevitable expansion pack for Dragon Age.
Assassin's Creed 2 PC.
All Points Bulletin.
Mafia 2.
Yakuza 3.
Fallout New Vegas.
GTA 5, depending on how it turns out.

Is "Man on Fire: The Game" supposed to be Heavy Rain?
Heavy Rain for GOTY 2010, calling it now
Also, I don't think there's any new Tomb Raider coming out in the first few months of 2010?
Anyways, here is my big list for 2010:
3D Dot Game Heroes
Alan Wake
Alpha Protocol
Batman: Arkham Aslum 2 (assuming it's 2010)
Bayonetta
Bioshock 2
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow
Crackdown 2
Dante's Inferno
Dark Void
Darksiders
Dead Rising 2
Dead Space 2
Fallout: New Vegas

Red Dead Redemption
Super Street Fighter IV
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Conviction
Twisted Metal (I'm hearing June?)
My wallet weeps already, and I'm sure there will be surprises along the way
Also I guess Super Mario Galaxy 2 might be coming for the Wii, so that might be worth a look but I don't own the system so yeah
I'm hoping for Zelda Wii in '10. Praying, actually, to all manner of deity. And if it does come out, fuck everything else.
But otherwise. Super Mario Galaxy 2, Metroid: Other M, FFXIII (vaguely), Castlevania (I'm optimistic), God of War 3, No More Heroes 2, and maybe a few others.
I want fucking Zelda. It's been over 3 years since TP. We're due, god damnit.

Man on Fire: The Game "Press 'A' to insert the explosive suppository!"
Seeing how I will be spending much of 2010 in the Middle East, I am not paying attention to any new releases. Not that I can't get games over there, it's just not very high on my list of concerns. :P

Is "Man on Fire: The Game" supposed to be Heavy Rain?
Rhymes with "sphincter bell".
I'll be getting Super street fighter 4 for sure. Also, last guardian if it comes out next year, I'm not too hopeful though. Then it's a split between FF13 or heavy rain.
I'll probably be crucified for this, but I just can't seem to drum up any interest in Bayonetta. I mean, I loved all the Devil May Cry games and this is made by the same person, yet there's just something about Bayonetta that puts me off.
Please tell me you played the demo.
I played the demo myself, and it was BEAUTIFUL, but it felt like I'd have done much better if I just mashed my entire hand against all 4 buttons.
The only downside I really think of the first games of a year is, by the end of the year, there's so much amazing shit, when the GOTY comes up, everyone thinks of games releast post-August. I can't even recall a single game that came out at the beginning of 2009 that's really impressed me enough to remember.

I'm surprised we haven't seen one sooner... Twisted Metal: Black was played so much in my apartment, we practically wore down the disc to nothing. The mediocre PSP versions kind of soured the series, but I haven't heard a word of it in years.

Ooohh...Twisted Metal and Burnout are like some on the only vehicular based games that I really like, so I may have to look out for it.
Aliens vs Predator
Looks good, Rogue Warrior made me a bit hesitant but I believe that's a completely different team at rebellion so we could be safe there.
APB
I suspect this will fall into City of Heroes syndrome where I spend far more time in the character editor than I ever spend actually playing the game. And I can't wait to do so.
Battlefield Bad Company 2
So hyped that I'll be able to play the sequel on PC. Looking forward to the multiplayer, and goddamnit the sound design is still the best.
Final Fantasy 13
I've been intentionally ignoring everything in the press about this game. No trailers, no previews, nothing. Looking forward to going in pretty much knowing nothing.
Just Cause 2
Didn't think much of the first game, but after watching this single trailer I'm instantly on board for the sequel. It looks like the perfect level of Nuts I'm looking for in an open world game.
Dawn of War 2 Chaos Rising
Looking forward to some more single player Dawn of War 2. I really enjoyed the campaign in the game, so more sounds great.
There's also a bunch of no brainer games like Mass Effect 2, Mario Galaxy 2 and so on. Also I think 2010 will be the year I get a PS3. With stuff like Uncharted 2, Valkyria Chronicles, MGS4, Infamous, Demon's Souls plus the PSN stuff like Nobi Nobi boy and Pixeljunk Shooter along with Heavy Rain and Last Guardian coming up I think the time for me to get one has come.

I bought mine on Black Friday, and I enjoy it quite a bit. A word of advice, however: Don't overfill on games right at time of purchase. I bought Uncharted, God of War 1 & 2, LittleBigPlanet, Valkyria Chronicles, Ratchet & Clank, Resistance, & inFamous. I found I didn't have enough time to play anything I wanted, and I diverted from game to game, and now hardly any of them have had serious playtime because of Left 4 Dead 2 & the Borderlands add-ons, and now come the 5th I have Darksiders.
Where's a time machine when you need one? I need to pause it for awhile and catch up on my gaming
Uh, that list just shows that the time to get a PS3 is already here.
Anyway, I'm not really sure what new games I'm excited for in the coming year (aka, Christmas in Q1). A lot of the stuff I would be excited for are games I can't play due to them not being on a system I own (Splinter Cell, Mass Effect, etc.) or marred by the fact that I'll be getting a subpar port (Bayonetta). I guess I'm mostly excited for Red Dead Redemption and Alpha Protocol.
edit: Oh right, wary of Quantic Dream (Heavy Rain) and never played God of War (beat the GoW 3 demo though, never had a PS2)
I wonder if we'll see a Gears3 announcement this year, or if MS will want to space out it's Gears and Halos.
Also, I found the Dead Rising 2 article I was thinking of. Apparently the game just got pushed into the "April 2010 -> March 2011" release window with several other games, so it's still probably on track for an April release date.

I'm managed to whittle my games list to Heavy Rain, White Knight Chronicles, God of War 3, Yakuza 3, and 3D Dot Game Heroes.
I know I'm just not even thinking of a lot of games. But those are the ones I'm excited for, thus, those are the ones I'm getting.

I should hope not. It can't be THAT far behind. I was certain it was going to make 2009.

Nope. Give you a hint: Both feature someone pissed off and eager to interrogate people in bathrooms.
If I had to narrow it down to three:
Final Fantasy XIII
Heavy Rain
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow
