[Access] this form - "click to save" option

So I'm making this form for a table. I want people to be able to open the form, type in a new record manually, then say "Click to Save" - the information won't be created until they click this.

I also want to create a way to look up previous records, then edit them, then also click to save. The problem is I don't know how to get the button to do that. I'm in Access 2007. The form design is very basic and has only 6 fields for information (one of which is a drop down box).

Here's the real problem - I want to have a text box someone can type a record's number into and click a button. Clicking that button will go to the record in the table, pull the column data I want in the Form, then allow edits, which can then be saved with the Save button. After clicking save, I want the fields cleared. I just don't know how to form the event in either the Expression or Macro builders.
