Well Fulgore is the only truely iconic character to me. But I'm sure people would want some of the other old characters like Cinder Orchid Jago and Glacius .

I don't think Ice man, Fire man, Ninja would be hard to replace. Then again, I was never a fan of the series.

I know a lot of people who have rose colored glasses for KI still. It was a fun game when it came out but the characters were not that great, that doesn't stop people from wanting them back look at the ssf4 roster complaints of bring back X all the time.

Problem is that SF still has quite a number of great characters to bring back.

    Like the entire SF3 roster.

I was just dishin' with Rak in the TF2 thread about how I'd have preferred Haggar from FF making it into the new SF over Guy, who I consider just another bloke in a gi. But it's true such a choice would be between another gi guy or another big guy. Maybe Dean would have been the most visually exciting.

Man, I like them much better than the SF2 roster anyway.

    Mostly because I didn't like SF2.

Yet by most accounts SF3 characters initially were alot of it's issue gaining players. Surveying casual gamers in something basic like an is this a SF character Yes or no hot or not type deal I would almost put money on Terry Bogard being IDed as a SF character more then alot of the SF3 cast.

Dean? I'm drawing a blank, and I consider myself pretty knowledgeable about this genre.

Sev: Your gameplay is the most heavily yomi based around. Usually you look for characters that allow you to force guessing situations for big dmg. Even if the guess is mathematically nowhere near in your favor lol. You're happiest when you have either a 50/50, 33/33/33 or even a 75/25 situation to go crazy with. And you will take big risks to force those situations to come up.

I'm pretty much only talking about my opinion. I know SF2 is alot more popular than SF3.

I need more SF3 in my life.

Has anyone else encountered a problem where the TE stick can't navigate the standard Xbox 360 menus? Mine's just started to do that and it's a pain in the ass...

I have the stick set to digital pad. It seemed counterproductive to have a digital stick on an analog setting.

Generally speaking, i think the "Hierarchy" goes something like

    Keyboard -> Xbox 360 Controller (PS3 Controller) -> Fightpad -> Stick

However, you can really use whatever makes you happy. Most people will agree that learning how to use a stick will up your game by quite a bit. However, not everyone wants to drop that kind of money or is simply too lazy to learn (like me).

Personally, i use the Analog stick on the Xbox 360 Controller. But im a freak around here.

Ten years ago a pad player would be weird.

For anyone who didn't grow up in an arcade it's not weird. It's not even abnormal. If you have to LEARN how to use a stick then there's nothing weird about not using them. I'd have to learn how to play with a pad -- it's crippling, really, and even after almost a year of being forced onto pads at most tourneys I'm still not confident on them. Playing stick is second nature. But that's just how I was raised, you see.

Preferring the 360 pad, though, is just fucking warped. See a doctor.

Pads aren't quite as god awful as people make them out to be - but sticks make things easier on you as far as execution and such go.

We've had this discussion more times than people have clapped for Obama so far.

Depending on the game, and possibly the player, that is factually untrue: there are inputs where pads are objectively better suited. But they're mostly in 3d fighters. Outside of Street Fighter pads are a very popular and solid choice for even the best players.

The easiest example I could give would be Hilde and her charge moves in SC4. Every single high level Hilde player uses a pad (with one possible exception), and pads are universally acknowledged as the better and easier way to play her. People who normally play on sticks will even switch to pads to play her more effectively.

And do not underestimate the power of having 4 shoulder buttons and possibly a second analog stick to mash.

Shoulder buttons may as well not even be there for me. Also, everything i say in this thread about controllers is regarding SF4 since this is the SF4 thread and not the SC4 thread.

Hmmm I never could make the left hand shoulder buttons useful for me on a pad.

I can definitely believe the pad is better for 3D fighters, mainly with the old tekken machines having PS2 controller ports on it.

If someone is just playing casually, nothing wrong with a pad for 2D fighters really.

Why is US box art always made by some random dude with photoshop ripping images off the official site? Well at least there were no IGN water marks.

Anyway, Adon, Cammy and DJ look like they just saw Rose take her top off right off screen. DJ and Adon are very excited by this while Cammy is just impressed.
That's what I like to imagine anyway.
