I'm not really sure if this has been posted, or if in fact you guys already know this. But after reading todays news post, and seeing how Tycho got a bit screwed over with the Mass Effect save, I thought of something I stumbled upon awhile back.
This is the only reason I created a forum account, and again I apologise if someone has brought this up before.
Theres a forum online, called SomethingAwful, which has a fairly solid Mass Effect 2 fanbase. And alot of people were having the same problem of not having a save file, because they uninstalled the game around 2 years ago, not realising that something like this would be put into place. A forum user called Annakie created a website with the intention of gathering Mass Effect save files.
All you have to do is install a game save, and when you enter Mass Effect 2, it scans your computer and looks for Mass Effect save files (this his how bioware programmed it). Itll find the file you downloaded, and you can play based on this already created character.
The link to which the site is found is this :
http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=3238799
And the site itself, created by Annakie, is this:
http://www.annakie.com/me/home.htm
Theres a large variety of saves, and I think anyone who doesn't already have a saved file will be probably happy with the selection there.
So if you uninstalled Mass Effect 1, and want a character to transfer, and don't want to play Mass Effect 1 again, this is a possible solution.
And if it fixes Tychos problem, well thats good too.
Hope this helped.

We usually try to keep all things related to a particular game in the game's thread, so you should post this at the Mass Effect 2 thread that already exists. That website was already mentioned by the way, but in a much less detailed manner. Then we'll ask for this to be added to the first post of that thread (or OP).
But thanks anyway.
