AvP 2000?

Hey, so a new AvP game is coming out, but I'm sure you already knew that. And AvP 2000 is only $4.99 on Steam. I haven't played it before, but I'm too impatient to wait for the new one and I hear 2000 is pretty rockin' anyway. Anyone up for some multiplayer or something? If we get a big enough group I can add more info.

    no, fuck that other thread. we don't need to consolidate every goddamn topic that's remotely connected into massive 50 page super threads.

    Broke down and bought this the other day. When I first had this game I never played multiplayer because it was a pain in the ass/ I sucked pretty hardcore. This time around I've been having a shit ton of fun killing people.

    Things I've noticed as I play each race:

    Alien- by far my favorite to play. Going around fast as possible, climbing on walls, and being a royal terror is just awesome.

    Marine- I'm decent at the marine, and I try to stay away from the minigun because it makes it a bit too easy. Grenades are fun. I usually skip the smartgun as well.

    Predator- my favorite monster, but God do I suck as a predator. I just can't seem to use the weapons as effectively as I should, especially the shoulder cannon. Speargun is surprisingly my favorite and most effective weapon, even against fast moving aliens. Definitely need more practice as the pred.

    Well, to be fair, the AvP thread was originally supposed to be about AvP Classic, but it's not anymore. So having a separate thread might be a good idea.

    That said, should someone form an AvP classic Steam group? I'd be down for some multi (note: I suck).

    I would like to try this out. I need to pick up the classic off steam. I just have a fear of buying anything on steam that isn't on sale, even if it is only 5 dollars. I feel like the next day it's going to be 99 cents or something.

    I just picked up the original again on Steam (used to own the disc version and it was lost somehow in a move)

    I am down for some multi as long as I get to be an alien, the other races suck

    I played as an Alien for awhile this afternoon. Species deathmatch is still great.

    Is there an easy way to connect now? back in the days all I could get into were super laggy games through a very shitty online system.

    Mutliplayer was patched into the Steam version a few weeks after release. It has a whole new network setup. http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1125571
