Expired, yet, frozen meats [solved]

I bought a bunch of frozen ground beef when it was on sale.
I'm typically not a beef guy, but it was cheap. I later forgot about it and every time I saw it thought it was one of my roommates.

The date on the meat is somewhere around 9/15/09.

It's been in the freezer since the day I bought it and has remained sealed and even wrapped in a plastic bag.
Should it still be edible?

Googling around shoots a couple months of being frozen is A-OK but I feel like I'm riding a thin line here.

Most stuff will go at least six months frozen just fine.

The sell-by date assumes refrigeration. The whole reason you freeze stuff is to make it last longer.

I wouldn't recommend making burgers from it, as it may taste sort of bland now, but the meat should be fine.

In general, red meat doesn't fare too well taste/texture-wise when you freeze it. But if you use it for tacos or chili or something where you're just browning the meat and seasoning it and using it as one ingredient it'll be fine.
