How do I get Final Fantasy VII onto both my PS3 and my PSP?

1.) Verify that your PS3 and PSP are running the latest versions of everything.
2.) Startup your PS3, go into the PlayStation Store, pay $10, download Final Fantasy VII.
3.) Connect your PSP to your PS3 via USB cable.
4.) On your PSP, go into Settings and run USB Connection. An idle screen will come up.
5.) On your PS3, go into Settings, Remove Play Settings, and then Register Device. The two devices will now connect.
6.) On your PS3, browse over to Final Fantasy VII under Games and then hit triangle and click Copy. This will copy the game over to your PSP.

Can I share saved games between the two platforms?

You absolutely can! This is one of the coolest part of this whole setup. Want to play Final Fantasy VII for a while on the big screen and then take it and level up on a train ride? No problem. Here’s how:

1.) On your PS3, go into Game, Memory Card Utility, and then verify that you have created the appropriate virtual memory card – in this case we’re talking about a PS Memory Card.
2.) Play Final Fantasy VII on your PS3 up until the first save point. Go ahead and save on your virtual memory card.
    3.) Quit the game.
4.) Follow steps one through five of the previous question to form a USB connection between your PS3 and PSP.
5.) On your PS3, go into Game, PS Memory Card, press triangle, choose Copy. While choosing the copy destination, you should see an entry for your PSP game. It will look something like ‘Final Fantasy VII-1′.
    6.) Choose that one.
The saved game is now copied over onto your PSP. Go ahead and load up Final Fantasy VII to pick up where your left off.

If you want to copy data in the other direction (from the PSP to the PS3), then do the exact same thing described above – except swap the source and destination files.

Can I load a saved game from my old PlayStation memory card?

Yep, this works. You can load a saved game from an old memory card via the memory card adapter and then load it up onto Final Fantasy VII on the PS3. You can also copy it over to the PSP as described above and play it there.
