Dunno if he's changing anything, but there's not really anything empire-wise far north. There's the Realms of the Mammoth Lords, which is more tribal than empire-y...

There's Irrisen, who was conquered and founded by Baba Yaga and her army of blue trolls and fey, and is ruled in stead by her daughters while she explodes the planes. Oh, and it has a supernatural level of cold that surrounds the country.

Further past those to the north would be the Spine of the World mountains, which'd be around Golarian's north pole.

Aw, no hybrids. Pity, that was a mechanic I really wanted to experiment with.

Got access to the DDI stuff recently and I've been toying with a few other things, though, including a monk. Hope you enjoy.

    Blossom Stillwater

    Orokos sheet

Background (and ties to Gaedren Lamm)
Blossom Stillwater hails from a monastery secluded deep within the Mindspin mountains, its position far beyond the casual reach of either Korvosa or Magnimar. Adopted by the monks at a young age, Blossom and her sister, Cherry, spent their lives up until then in the wild as feral children, neither having very many memories of their parents beyond the teachings necessary to survive on their own.

They found it difficult to adapt to the civilized, ordered life that the monks practiced, neither of them having much knowledge of the world outside the mountains they called home. Blossom would frequently run away, though she would eventually return because her sister refused to leave.

After many years, Cherry eventually began training under one of the monks, and Blossom reluctantly followed. Her sister was much more talented than she at the arts and advanced quickly, while Blossom struggled with even the most rudimentary tasks. Soon enough, Cherry was ready to advance to the next stage of her training.

Monks at this stage spent a year outside the confines of the monastery walls, usually in the city of Korvosa, helping those less fortunate than themselves and trying to balance out some of the city's negative energy.

Cherry departed for the city of the crimson throne after making Blossom promise that she wouldn't chase after her. Blossom agreed and continued to train under the monks. A year passed, and when Cherry did not return, Blossom began to get worried. When no word came more than a month later, Blossom broke her promise to her sister and stole away in the middle of the night, supplies haphazardly slung in a bag across her back.

Blossom made for Korvosa. It took her many moons to reach the city, and many moons more to pick out enough information in its dirty, bustling streets to glean some clues: that her sister had arrived, and that three months before Blossom had arrived, Cherry had crossed Gaedren Lamm and disappeared.

Unsure of herself in the big city, still quite naive, Blossom has vowed to find her sister, whether dead or alive, and bring Gaedren Lamm to justice.

    Character
Blossom is impulsive and irritable, the traces of the wild child who once scratched a living off rocks still perceptible under the thin vineer of civilization. Because of her history, she is much less reserved than most monks, and her personal goals are much less about attaining personal enlightenment than an obligatory feeling of duty towards her sister.

Blossom moves with almost unnatural grace in combat, her thin figure delivering surprisingly powerful blows. She is far less impressive out of combat, her posture slouched and her movements hesitant as a nervous cat's. She wears loose, flowing clothing, the better for flexibility.

Blossom has a head of brown-blonde hair that ends at her shoulder blades. Her face is small but elegantly featured, like many elves, and her skin has a light, even tan. Her eyes are a deep shade of green. (A good picture would be this, though obviously with differently colored eyes and more traditional clothing.

The quill familiar was originally a magic book that held his spells and all the text in his library at home but it wasn't very cooperative. In battle it'd insist that Basi was casting the wrong spell and flip itself to a different page and stuff. It communicated by writing on its blank pages (think the journal from the second harry potter book). I tried refluffing the Tome Caddy familiar but it didn't feel right, and the whole concept seemed like a bit much so I tweaked things and got to where it is now.

Funnily enough, the other concept I was considering was an Elven Warden.

I went with Atherton though, as he was much more suited to an urban political intrigue adventure.

Multiple Defenders make combat slow for a number of reasons. Keeping track of all the marks and the different effects is tricky. We have a Paladin (who is not all that Defendery) and a Warden (who is very Defendery) in our RL campaign, and the difference between Close Burst 1 - all enemies (until start of next turn) and Close Burst 5 - one enemy in burst (persistant as long as you're next to them) means that pretty much everything is marked in our fights.

I was playing around with the idea of an Artificer as I really enjoy the class concept, but I went for Bob mainly because I thought there was more that could be done with the backstory.

Also, at the time of submission, we were really low on Defenders. But now we have plenty, so that's just how it worked out.

I still vote for Defender Party.

OR another party setup would be: a range-based Leader, a controller, two melee focused Strikers, and a Defender.

Overall, I would want two range players, and three melee players (either controller/range striker, or controller/range leader)

But like I said, it depends on who I'll choose to be in the group.

Updated the OP to reflect that...

Also: A lot less submissions this time to choose from (my SOW game had over 20 submissions, but this one's only got 13) ...

Alright, I'll toss my hat into the ring. It's a leader, but a leader/defender, so one step closer to living the dream! :P

Gunson Ward, Human War Priest of Kord

    Personality and Appearance
Gunson is usually mistaken for a fighter, or perhaps a town drunk. He is boisterous and overly friendly, hugging and tussling the hair of near strangers. He is most at home in a tavern or on the battlefield and is actually a bit nervous and fidgety in any temple outside of his own. Bright red coarse hair covers his head, which is usually capped with a chain helm. Gunson's beard is braided and hangs down to the middle of his chest. Gunson is short, but powerfully built. He doesn't have rippling muscles, but he is thick with incredible tendon strength.

    Background
A war orphan, Gunson was taken in by the ascetic warriors of The Eye of the Hurricane, a small order of devotees to Kord in a remote monastary. Gunson was always a bit of an oddity in the austere place, and as the only child there, didn't get as much of a chance to master the social interactions that most priests do. He was a good study despite this and trained day and night to learn his prayers and the art of battle.

The Eye of the Hurricane support themselves by brewing a specialty ale crafted from a thousand year old recipe and selling this ale to the nearest large city, Korvosa. Gunson took to brewing with a passion and by the time he was 25, he was named head brewer. He took pride in this work, even going so far as to seek ways to improve the recipe. His superiors were skeptical at first, but they couldn't deny the results; the beer was better than it had been in generations. What Gunson loved most about the job was the opportunity to travel to Korvosa to sell his wares. For a child reared entirely in the confines of the temple with only twice a year journeys into the city, this was a godsend. Life was good for Gunson,

Local breweries, seeing a rise in sales of this new ale, were alarmed. Word reached Gaedren Lamm and he offered the locals a deal. The breweries accepted. He had met the young brewer and knew he was a little naive and that he was looking for ways to improve his beer even further. Gaedren sold the young man delicious berries that added a great aftertaste to the already ggod brew. What Gunson didn't realize is that this berry produced a mild poison when mixed with yeast. The new batch poisoned several dozen people in the city, and killed two, and there were no records tying the fruit to Gaedren. Gunson lost his job, his home at the monastary, and was forced to spend six months in prison for his inadvertent crime. Gunson spent this time in jail mourning those he had accidentally harmed and killed. Fuming, he vowed to Kord to find Gaedren and bring him to justice. He was released 3 days ago and has been asking around bars in the city for Gaedren, but he is finding that he is not a popular man.

tl;dr Gunson was tricked by Gaedren into poisoning people with the beer he loved to brew. He is now a priest with nothing left to lose.

Okay, so I'm finally ready to try again- I'll be deleting my previous entry in favor of a retooled:

    Mag, Human Avenger

"Freedom. Noun. A state of being in which one has nothing left to lose."

    Background:
Mag was born Garren Varak, to a gang member and his girlfriend. The two had no intention of raising or conceiving him, so they tossed him onto some random guy's doorstep. As fate would have it, he was deposited on the doorstep of a powerful warlock, Sal Riger, with only his first name scribbled on a piece of parchment. He was one of the more prominent men in Korvosan politics; as he was at the time Syl Gar's right hand man.

Sal Riger had almost no time to deal with the child; his job took almost all of his spare time. So Garren was left in the care of Sal's assistant M.A.G., a Warforged which referred to himself as a 'Magical Assistance Guardian'. Being raised by a Warforged at a young age does things to a human child. He was considered 'strange' by anyone who visited, but was dismissed quickly as another of Sal's eccentricities. When he had spare time, he tried to teach Garren the ways of magick, but the young boy did not seem to have the proper aptitude to do so.

As Garren grew up and grew closer to his Sal and M.A.G., Sal discovered that Gaedren Lamm was stealing and laundering money from all over the city. He made it a sort of pet project of his to torpedo this crime ring. As he came closer and closer to acquiring enough evidence to expose Gaedren, the crime lord decided to take action by forging documents that tied Sal to an incident that had resulted in the assassination of a well-respected Hellknight commander.

Needless to say, the Hellknight response was swift and cruel. Sal Riger was slain, M.A.G. was dismembered, and the entire residence was burnt to the ground. All in front of Garren's eyes. As M.A.G. and Sal lay dying, Garren saw this as proof of the irrationality of humanity and forsook his name in favor of the Warforged that had been the father he'd never had. In that moment, Garren was dead, and Mag had been born.

In the days following the destruction of everything he'd ever known, Mag considered himself 'obsolete' since he 'had no purpose'. What few documents remained of Sal's investigation told Mag all he needed to know. Gaedren Lamm was to blame. He had a purpose now: to repay Gaedren for his crime. With interest.

However, Mag knew that a mere sword would not be enough to stop the crime lord, so he had to do something decidedly unlogical: pray to the gods. He prayed to any god that would hear him to grant him a chance for revenge. Ioun, it seemed, was displeased that Gaedren had burnt down Sal Riger’s library of ancient magical texts, and she granted Mag his plea in return for his worship.
    Ties to Gaedren Lamm:
Gaedren Lamm killed Sal Riger, M.A.G., and burnt down their place of residence before Sal could reveal Gaedren's wrongdoings. Mag sees Gaedren as a symbol of everything he thinks is wrong with his race- exploitative, backstabbing, irrational, ignorant, and selfish.

Whether or not the mere fact that Sal came so close to success had something to do with him blowing his shot at the big times is questionable. His birth parents may or may not be under the employ of Gaedren.
    Appearance:
Mag wears a bulky dark gray robe that covers up most of his lanky 6'4" frame. His hands are clad in leather. This drab ensemble leaves only his head exposed. He is a bit skinnier than would be the norm for his size at only 180 lb.

Mag is not necessarily a bad looking guy; he has a strong jaw and a square forehead. His short brown hair and dark eyes prevent him from being an eyesore.
    Personality:
Acts based on logic, not on emotion. Mag mercilessly questions and ridicules courses of action that he sees as 'irrational'. Anything emotional he considers irrational, and will not hesitate to point it out. Mag hides behind a mask of stoicism, but occasionally the mask breaks and strong emotions bubble to the surface. He is not a cruel man. Merely one of 'logic' and a 'sound mind'.

Which angers him because his source of power is decidedly something beyond logic: divinity.
    Mannerisms:
Mag does not slouch, ever. When he is bored, he will often play with various objects using his hands, including the handle of his sword. When impatient, he will tap his foot every three seconds.

Hopefully later today I'll be submitting my Hunter Ranger style LT Shifter. I need a while to plan him out, which is always harder when the content's not in the builder yet, but I hope he'll be a true skirmisher, able to fight at range and in melee. He may have a bit of a ranged preference; that'll depend entirely on powers.

    A change of plans people...

Due to the amount of worked I received this weekend, I've decided to move the deadline much earlier.

The deadline is now Friday @ 6:00 PM (GMT+2 time).

I'll post an update with everyone's current submissions later today...
