I've been noticing on more networks that "bullshit" gets uncensored now, however "shit " is still bleeped out.

What's the reasoning behind this?

Maybe some day "motherfuck" will be fine but they'll still censor "fuck".

The FCC has no authority to enforce decency standards on cable (though the assholes are trying to change that). The only reason they have legal authority over the radio and broadcast networks is because the airwaves are supposedly publicly owned.

But, yeah, I would imagine that pressure from advertisers and conservative organizations who like to bitch about things would have an impact.

I used to have a giant poster filled all the usable frequencies within the spectrum. The amount set aside for the public is nothing compared to military and government use.

That said, broadcasting on any of them without a license from the FCC will get your creamed.

By creamed I mean fucked in the ass by dudes in prison.
